Cryptic - Dec 1st 2023 (DJ / Vinyl Set)

This set was first performed on January 1st 2024 in San Francisco at the Breakfast of Champions block party on the Space Cowboys main stage.

A RE:CONSTRUCTED set is a *long* way removed from a standard DJ set. It's a live/hybrid set.

Simon takes hundreds of tracks from his huge library, painstakingly deconstructs them (using Ai if needed to separate elements from the original tracks), and then pieces everything back together to create a hugely emotive and immersive musical story.

He uses Ableton Live and multiple controllers to trigger up to 16 individual channels of audio at any one time during the performance, and also performs live keyboard overdubs. The end result is a hugely addictive, compulsive and compelling blend of music that's often new, often familiar but always utterly unique.

Yo, let’s get into it — Joit’s “Pushing” ain’t just a track, it’s a whole Berlin back-alley sermon. Lyrically, Joit’s not trying to be flashy — he’s being real. He spits like someone who’s seen both sides of the city — the glitz and the gutter. He’s got that Berlin duality: part philosopher, part street poet. And when he says he’s pushing, you believe it. Not just through the beat — through life, through doubt, through every locked door he’s had to kick open.
