This set is really dark. I must have been in a rare mood because it will start off pretty standard and get darker and darker. I promise however, that if you make it to the 40 minute marker it will come back to the light. Enjoy this set, I know I do.

Sunday evening I was feeling inspired to try something a little bit different. I wanted to listen to some of my darker music and decided to record the set. This collection of music is going to be things I don't normally play out and are on the weirder than a typical Scribbles set. 

A little bit about this set, I am quite a nerd for music and I decided to get my dream journal from my nightstand and write myself notes, feelings or intentions. 

This set is best listened to while on a loud and clear sound system or using over ear headphones. Before bed would be the perfect time of the day, and in a darker location would be excellent too (lights off in bed or something like that).

I decided to play because I was inspired to do so, but I was feeling a bit tired. I did a 4 hour set the day before and felt like I absolutely crushed it and I wanted to see if I could do something similar but a bit different.

I had to jump up and down to get myself pumped up for the set because I just was struggling to find the direction I wanted to go....at first. 

At 23 minutes into this set I started to fall into my groove and began to wonder how or where I could ever play a set like this out to people.

When I hit minute 44 I decided I wanted to find weirder and weirder music. I think I was worried that the set might sound a bit erratic but it is what I wanted to listen to at that time. I wanted to feel like I could dive deeper into each song and melody.

The 58 minute marker led me to wonder if there are people out there that move from psy-bass to dark to tech etc. I left myself a note to get myself to search for more music down this road. 

The following song at 1:01:00 is very intense. I felt like it is such a massive and dark sound. The song as it comes in should make the listener feel claustrophobic to a degree. Not in a bad way, but in a music way. As if the bass won't stop moving toward you until its just surrounding you. I want the listener to focus on the darkest part of the song and just experience it. (Not sure if you feel this way too, but please let me know one way or another).

1:08:00 kept pushing my library to show off crazy music, at this point I felt as if I couldn't stop playing if I wanted to because I was feeling like I was flowing down the exact pathway of music that I wanted to listen to. 

1:20:00 as I was searching for the next track to play, I stumbled across one that made me literally say 'oh my fuck' because I was so excited to listen to it. If you've ever been to a show with me and seen my reaction to some of the bangers that an artist would play, its was kinda like that. 

1:25:00 I told myself I would post this set regardless of how it sounded the next day. Just because of how much fun I had while playing it I figured someone might enjoy it too. 

1:31:00 I began to wonder if I was playing my all time favorite musical set. I  don't play this kind of music out and I actually don't know what kind of party would make for sharing this, which is why I am posting this as is. 

1:45:00 ask myself if some of my idols play music for fun like this. What would Dubfire's private musical set sound like? What about some of the other guys? Do mega stars still practice at home and try things for the fun of it without worry if it sounds good or not?

1:54:00 continue to be excited about mixing in different ways that might not actually work. Its not a way I have djed in a club before and I am hoping that it turns out well.

At 2:00:00 I laugh at myself. "Sometimes I am weird in a similar way to my weird and dark set" as I have my hair pulled up in a head band, wearing eggplant slippers and my bathrobe.... such a nerd. Basically this was a set for me to just listen to music in the way I wanted to listen to it. Maybe not even called a DJ set?

2:30:00 Crushed it.
