This is part II of my "A Kentucky Odyssey".  This part features a beautiful arrangement of several Old Kentucky folk songs for woodwind ensemble.  This part is about 75% finished so far, with the rest of the piece coming soon.  Here I am giving the listener an idea of what my intensions are in the piece.

RAGE Over a Lost Parking Space Audio Of Piano Part

This is the homage to friend Beethoven's 'Rage over a Lost Penny' This is a more timely 'rage', since I don't know if anyone gets upset anymore over a lost penny. Of course, in those days, a penny was worth a lot more, since his penny was not an American penny. However, people get all fired up on the highways of today over a variety of issues, which usually do nothing but raise blood pressure!  The music features the piano in conjunction with a traditional woodwind quintet.  ENJOY!

DEASON  RAGE....Over A Lost Parking Space  (updated)

DEASON  A Michigan Winter For Solo Flute

This is the third piece of my Bagatelles for 2 Clarinets and a Bassoon.  This movement is entitled "Daydreams", and features a sad, wistful quality, making a nice contrast with the first two pieces of the series, "The Dancing Shoebills" and "Jongleurs", both of which are in a fast tempo.  "Daydreams" is characterized by a haunting, forlorn character.

This is the first piece of a new set of pieces for piano, 4 hands.  It is entitled WINDMILLS.  The music is quite Jazz influenced, with nice melodies and a spunky rhythmic context, which will be a lot of fun to play for any piano duo teams.

This is a new piece for Bb Clarinet and Piano. The style features a Jazz derived harmonic language, some nice tunes, and would make an excellent addition to a recital or concert by a good student or a professional player. The piece has a strong audience appeal. Running time is about 8 minutes.

"The Wooly Worm" is the second piece in the new suite for Piano 4 Hands, following the first piece, entitled "Windmills". These pieces are very programmatic in character, and are, therefor, very descriptive of whatever the title suggests.  If you have ever seen a Wooly Worm, they are cure little guys, with beautiful coloring, and walk very slowly.  Hence, this piece is slow moving and lugubrious, but unfolds over a Jazz background. Piano 2 is panned right, while Piano i is panned left, giving the effect that out little wolly giu is crawling across a tree branch.

This is the third piece in a suitye of pieces for Piano Four Hands.  It is a transcription of my original "Rattleanake Shag" for Two Pianos from the Suite entitled "Sugar Beet Suite" written in 2000 on commission from the Oregon Music Teachers Association as part of the Composer of the Year festival held in Le Grand, Oregon.  "rattlesnake Shag" follows "Windmills" and "The Wooly Worm" for Piano Four Hands.
