This song was performed by the band Drop Ready, featuring Greg Golden (vocal, ukulele bass), Narciso Lobo (vocal, ukulele), and Chris DeGirolamo (vocal, cajon)and was co-produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Scottish McMillan at Studio Shmudio in Des Plaines, IL in 2015. Neither Drop Ready nor Scottish McMillan claim any copyright ownership of this song.  It is for promotional purposes only, under the Fair Use act.  

The song, originally recorded as "Pass the Kouchie" by reggae group, the Mighty Diamonds, was later rewritten and rerecorded by the group Musical Youth in 1982. "Pass the Dutchie" was a 'PC' version of The Might Diamonds' "Pass the Kouchie" - a song about asking someone to pass a pot in which marijuana was kept. The new version reformed was about passing a stewing pot from which to eat. It is considered by many to be a classic radio track, though Musical Youth did not win their 2010 lawsuit claiming royalty rights.

Scottish McMillan - Good Fences

This was recorded at Studio Shumdio by myself, with Rich Miller singing and playing drums and myself playing electric guitars and bass.  It was to promote Vapor Haus in Des Plaines, IL, and was played on a few local radio stations as part of a commercial advertisement. I think it turned out pretty well... :)  Listen to the lyrics - I wrote the "new" lyrics myself, to make the case for Big Tobacco and Big Pharma getting out of our health care endeavors.

Vape Me

All songs were recorded "live", in a 10' by 10' room, and were mixed "on-the-fly" and recorded to a stereo track, with no remixing. I sang and played all guitars while Ryan Aiello played drums.  Any "background" guitars were recorded in the moment, along with "overdubbed" guitars, which were added in real time, on top of the live-recorded samples.  No bass guitars were involved.  All guitars (which were all acoustic guitars only, with added effects) were tuned to standard baritone, meaning B to B, instead of E to E.

This playlist serves to present some VERY old recordings, remastered by Yours Truly, for your enjoyment.  I ripped these from a couple of case of 78 RPM records I got from my mom, and many of them are pure gold, if you like this sort of thing. Mostly-forgotten artists, with a few well-known ones mixed in, from their early days. These were mostly done in the 20s and 30s, on VERY primitive equipment, so it took a bit of finessing to get out the bass tones and fine details, but I did what I could. As of the typing of these remarks, I only have a couple of songs loaded, but I fully intend to add to this collection. Stay tuned... :)
