I call this one "can you tell I've played a lot of Tekken 3" lol. That's kind of all there really is to say about it in terms of commentary; the music in Tekken 3 (primarily its PS1 arranged soundtrack, though I like the Arcade score too) is both some of my favourite music every made, game or otherwise, and highly influential on my work in both the micro and the macro, and I wanted to take another stab at doing a "pure" Tekken 3-esque type track as it's been a very long time since I last did (and my prior efforts were... lets say quaint. here's one of them [ https://103records.bandcamp.com/track/devils-glare-hikaru-takara-from-heavens-order-hell-symphony-early-works ]) + thought that doing it for the M2K EP might be a fun shout. And it was! Mostly! The guitar cutting and chopping I'm very happy with, the synth pads and synthesized drums are solid, the breakbeats... eh. I've always struggled to make "breakbeat" type drums that I'm fully satisfied with in M2K- they never quite have the right "grit" to them. Maybe I'll try a more "authentic" remix of it somewhere down the line.

With regards to the title; a very, very vague narrative for the song emerged as I was working on it- of it being the score to a far off future that's a complete cyberpunk hell that's barely being held together, but the powers that be are desperately trying to placate the masses even as the renegade media tries to keep them informed of just how bad things are. I'm not intending to expand that into anything further, but it emerged first out of some initial sample choices before me deliberately trying to evoke it with some others. It's also 1000 years after the PS1 release of Tekken 3- 1998- so that ties it back to the songs initial concept.
