Twisted's Darkside Podcast 157 - Mark EG - Westfest Warm up #2

The next edition of the already infamous Megacast (in association with Beatbucket Digitial Music Store www.beatbucket.net), this time with dutch rawstyle icons Degos and Re-Done as well as two of the best upcoming UK acts in the techier hard scene Side E-Efect and Mike Steventon. Degos and Re-Done Biography: 

Degos & Re-Done are from the Achterhoek, the eastern region of the Netherlands. They always seek to deliver unique performances, by being very energetic on stage and including surprising tracks. In addition to performing on parties regularly, they are also a resident DJ at ‘The Magic Show’, a radio show that is weekly broadcasted on Q-Dance radio. 

In 2009 and 2010, Degos & Re-Done mostly performed in local clubs, with Quake Dance being their absolute highlight. After signing to Theracords, the amount and size of bookings have grown significantly: in 2011 they played at Ground Zero, WiSH Outdoor, Dreamfields, the Qontinent, XXlerator and Loudness. Having a solid basis, 2012 brought them Alcatrazz, Decibel Outdoor and closing the mainstage of Loudness.  In 2013, Degos & Re-Done will perform in the BLUE area of Defqon.1 festival, Last World Festival, Dance Valley and the Hangar at Q-BASE! 

Only one year after Degos & Re-Done met, they had their first releases on Mythica Records. These releases included tracks like “Salsa”, “Evolve”, and “Cause Chaos”. Eventually, Degos & Re-Done signed to Theracords, where they started off very strong with tracks like “Warrior” and “Outside the Box”. Later, hits like “Yes we Know”, “Synthgeweld”, “Crisis”, and “Forsaken” were added to their raw hardstyle portfolio. In 2013, the tracks “Turn it Off” and “Nothing Is What It Seems” caused a breakthrough for Degos & Re-Done. Most recently, “Demon in Me” and “Connected” expanded the typical Degos & Re-Done sound.

Mark EG's Megacast 003 Featuring Degos and Re-Done, Side E-Fect and Mike Steventon

This episode of Mark EG's crazy fantastic Megacast (in association with Beatbucket Digital Music Store www.beatbucket.net), takes you through all the best new hardstyle releases this week - plus a mix from rawstyle goddess Deetox. But can you handle the madness? Good luck!

About Deetox:

With her big passion for hardstyle, Diana Zwerwer aka Deetox started her musical career back in 2010. In her first year she'd accumulated an impressive fourty gigs - from smaller events to bigger ones such as Indicator, Reset and the huge Ground Zero Festival. In short, she rocks the decks with her own kind of hardstyle - hard, raw and outside the box!

In 2012 Defqon 1, Alcatrazz, Loudness and XXlerator Raw were her highlights. And outside of Holland, she was getting noticed too - booked in Scotland and Switzerland for 2012. 

In 2013 Deetox is booked multiple times nearly every weekend, which is amazing for such a young DJ. Decibel Outdoor Festival, Dreamfields Festival, Intents Festival, Emporium, Bass Academy are already added to her already impressive list of gigs.

As well as DJing, Diana also produces her own music. In 2011 she had her first release on Theracords together with DJ Thera, called 'Silly Games'. She also made a remix of a track by the famous Dutch group The Party Animals. She kicked of 2012 with her first solo release, titled 'Once Upon A Time'. In 2012 'Black Magic' followed which pleased the very rawest of party visitors.
 
For 2013 Deetox conquered the charts with 'Here I Come', 'Contact' (ft. Phrantic) and 'Android' (ft. Delete).

Deetox is a fast rising star with a clear vision: becoming a well-known and respected artist within the hardstyle scene!

Mark EG's Megacast 005 Featuring Deetox (Theracords)

The UK techno subculture, which centres on techno music, includes a diverse array of ideologies, fashions and forms of expression, which can also include visual art, dance, literature and film. This subculture often exhibits the promotion of individual freedom.

The techno original subculture emerged in the United States, namely Detroit in the 1980's, quickly spreading to the United Kingdom. At the turn of millennium, the subculture began to diversify, which led to the proliferation of factions such as minimal, schranz and many others. 

But 2013 saw the original techno sound mutate into an even more powerful form with many new underground stars emerging including artists such as Tuomas Rantanen, Gabeen, Luis Ruiz and old favourites brushing up their sound such as Oscar Mularo, The Anxious, Reeko and Space DJz. Clean, clear and modern production with dirty, dark and punishing rhythms.

Original UK techno soldier Mark EG brings our attention to this 'second wave' of techno on a brand new mix, showcasing mainly new artists - quite obviously nodding to the punk era of the 70's, where a similar musical development took place.
