From Afar is about the turmoil of falling for someone unexpected and knowing that you can't be together. Sometimes when faced with difficult situations we find ourselves conjuring-up rationalisations that ease the pain but may not necessarily work in practice, in this situation it’s the idea that we could somehow maintain a secret loving relationship, from afar.

Fallible creatures is a pensive song that explores the idea that we are all perfectly imperfect. We live in a world that manipulates us into chasing a ‘perfect’ ideal that is often impossible to attain. The journey and quest towards this elusive perfection is often the cause of great depression, anxiety and loss of self. Fallible Creatures is an anthem for all of us to remember that its ok to be imperfect, in fact its not just ok, it's innately human.

Chewing Gum is an eclectic cocktail of emotions shaken by the shade of social media. The verses tentatively take you through the everyday process of being imprisoned in ones own insecurities and ego. It delves in to the unspoken youth reality that we are all governed by the pressure to portray the perfect life in filtered pictures and over analysed text.

 “My phone would sometimes feel like a  loaded gun, fuelled with way too many bullets of emotion. Me recognising this is what this song is about. Social media is a double edged sword, I needed to change my perspective on it and start actually living my real life, once I did this I wasn’t ruled by it anymore and I could dip in and out of it and use it more recreationally instead of it being my bible.”

iiola’s rhythmic poetry melts perfectly in to  the infectious broken beats leading us in to the chorus and what appears to be iiola’s awakening stirred up by a synthesised array of pyscadelic pulses and vocal Euphoria. As always iiola breaches a subject that exposes her own life experience and vulnerability. Song by song we get to know a little more about her, it’s as though we are approaching her journal and she has purposely left it open on this specific page for us to read. Yet again we are captivated by her honesty and unique audio Pop Art.
