A powerful sorceress named Scarlett has been living alone for years in Magick Bayou, isolated from the rest of the world.  She knew it would be only a matter of time before the Army of Dark Witches took over her land, so she gathers the courage to travel by broom with her feline companion to Forgotten City, a Safe Haven where all good magick users can live without persecution.  Little did she know how important she would become in the near future.  She would  eventually become the High Sorceress of Forgotten City and Gatekeeper of Safe Haven.

Shadow Storm

I wanted to create a piece using a style I wasn't too familiar with.  As I was writing it, the flute and the organ started to sound like two different people telling their stories, both stories ending at the same intersection.

Crossroads

With nowhere else to go but forward, I ventured deep into the blue forest.  There were spirits living here, but they seemed to be okay with my presence.  One of them helped guide me through the maze of trees, over rivers and through natural tunnels buried beneath the earth.  It never spoke to me, but It seemed to want to show me something, so I followed.  The light began to fade away.  Nightfall was coming.  I had to find a safe place to sleep.

Spirits of the Forest

In a distant land far away from Lamplight Village, another story has been unfolding.  Dolores and her younger sister Katie have been running for days, escaping the soldiers that took away their family and friends back home.  It all started when the Army of the Dark Witches appeared and attacked the city they lived in, resulting in massive casualties.  Immediately after the coven’s attack, the government announced that they would purge all magic users from the city, which really meant execute.  Like their parents, the two sisters were born with magic in their blood, a curse which followed them their whole lives, and the catastrophe only amplified their shame.   Not all is hopeless though.  A secret radio transmission from a powerful sorceress named Scarlett is what brought them here today, to Forgotten City.  Scarlett promised a Safe Haven for all magic users if they could reach her.   The soldiers are closing in on the two.  Will they make it to Safe Haven?
