Long Train Running was originally written by Tom Johnston for his Band The Doobie Brothers in 1973. The tune evolved from an untitled and mostly ad-libbed jam that the Doobies developed onstage. Thank God they finally recorded it after many years so that Crazy Heels had a basis for their cracking cover version (horn section arranged by Werner Wurm).
