SCOVI in Conversation with Pippa Moore from Northern Ballet

Northern Ballet offer audio described performances so people with vision impairments can hear the production come alive as the action on stage is described live through a headset by a VocalEyes audio describer and a company dancer.

The audio described performances are always preceded by the opportunity to take part in a touch tour specifically designed for those with vision impairments to get the most from a performance.

Ahead of Northern Ballet’s production of Victoria at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre on Saturday 13th of April we caught up with Pippa Moore, one of the company’s dancers who helps deliver the audio descriptions to find out more about how the process of creating an audio description can offer a new experience and interpretation of what is often considered a predominantly visual production.
