My favorite mix by scram Jones love Jazz and I love Tribe but TI hear the original blended with the new makes me appreciate Tribes work ethics and how much they show love to the Jazz artist who are so instrumental with the sound they wanted to relay

Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth's classic LP 'Mecca and the Soul Brother' turned 30 recently, so reminisce for a spell with a mix of OG Samples, Remixes, & Blends.
The way Pete sampled old jazz/funk/soul records and layered them over hard, dusty drums was masterful (how he caught that little part on the fadeout of an Ohio Players record for 'Lots Of Lovin' still amazes me).    
Combine that with C.L.'s sharp yet fluid lyricism (how many MC's could rhyme like THIS back in '92??), and you unquestionably have one of the pillars of early 90's NYC boom bap.

I had the pleasure of going to LA to do Blazing 45's party. While i was there i did a practice set at the homie Byze one crib. The homie jrocc passed thru as well as we were recording the rehersal set mind u this is not the full set this is just the part of the set i Needed to practice i overdubbed drops on certain songs on this mix so ppl wont sample stuff off my mix in other words find the record yourself.

BLAZING 45 REHERSAL AT BYZE CRIB

I mixed 164 of Hip Hop’s original samples in 55 minutes. Producers like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, RZA, Large Professor & D.I.T.C. inspired this. Classics With DJ Rumor: LiveSpin, Episiode 16.
