Warm Up Micro Cabaret 24 mai 2025

Taken from Trentemøller’s album, ‚Into The Great Wide Yonder‘, a stunning achievement in modern production and cinematic songwriting, ‚Shades of Marble‘ has been reworked by the man himself, along rising artists KiNK and Kasper Bjørke.
Trentemøller‘s dramatic, edgy and daring remix of his own string drenched opus is nothing short of breathtaking. Leaning towards dancefloors with an appreciation for epic qualities, this expertly constructed re-think will surely be heard well into the festival season.

The inimitable man from Sofia, KiNK rises to the challenge of remixing ‚Shades Of Marble‘ and does so heroically. The pleasing result is a tough, Chicago meets Berlin jack-jam that leads to tripped out and freaky moments in the break, until his trademark drum machines do the rest!

Finally another bright star of the Danish scene, Kasper Bjørke, has his say with his deeper and more low slung remix that leads the listening into satisfying late night realms. Full of funk and melancholy, this is a welcome treat for fans of Bjørke‘s characteristic productions.

I made a little live mix of my own tracks and remixes recently for B Traits BBC Radio 1 show. They aired 30mins or so of it, but you can get the whole mix here (plus there's a free download of the file via the website users area, where's there's a load of other content too).

It's got quite a thorough melodic string throughout. Lots of soft enveloping chords, nested textures and slowly developing tracks without straying into too much glitch - "submerged textures", with some fitting artwork made by Colin Droz featuring Mars textures, with his own hand-drawn textures embedded/submerged within. 

I used quite a few old tracks, as there's a whole load of new projects on the way and I wanted to get a little look back before moving forward with the next releases. Max Cooper - Submerged Textures - Live mix for B/Traits Radio1

“Garden of Love” is 5 years old. 5 years that his songs have accompanied us, like evidence. The 4th album of Scratch Massive entered our intimacy, met its audience, a large audience, and the passage of time has succeeded. His romantic and dark compositions - we can cite "Last Dance", "Sunken" or "Dancer in the Dark" - have become classics that we have heard as soundtracks on feature films, series and fashion shows. “Last Dance” sung by Maud Geffray has become a cult and transgenerational title by illustrating the first kiss of Elliot and Lucas, the two heroes of the teen series “Skam”.

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of "Garden Of Love", Scratch Massive offers us here a Deluxe version containing 5 unreleased tracks, recorded in Los Angeles during the album's studio sessions. There we find the majestic “Love Streams” Feat Grindi Manberg in its sung and instrumental version. Then come 2 unreleased demos of "Pray" by the group, and finally "Hollywood Boulevard", a nighttime ballad in a fantasy L.A., the city where the album "Garden of Love" was thought and composed.

This Deluxe anniversary version skilfully completes the group's 4th LP and makes us wait before the next one, scheduled for 2024.
