Virginia-based rapper Scream Geronimo's latest single, Closing Act can be aptly described as rise and shine music.

 

The shimmering soundscape produced by Chicago's own Bless 1 is reminiscent of a cool autumn morning. As the drums come in to set the day in motion, Geronimo illustrates a day in the life of a dreamer immersed in the rat race, but envisioning something greater.

 

Finding himself overstimulated by the tumultuous state of the world, Scream Geronimo turns his sights inward in search of clarity and vision.

First and foremost, all praise goes to Vanilla for producing the song originally entitled "Dreamcatcher." Instantly, the intricate arrangement of sounds puts listeners in a tranquil and meditative head space. It isn't hard to see why I leapt to the pen and pad and let my thoughts spill over Track 2 of Vanilla's "Origin" album.

   "Suddenly, my life is possible again," I remark in my opening words. Creatives of all sorts can relate to how imperative their respective crafts are to their well being. To express one's self is like oxygen, but to use this oxygen to run a greater race is what brings it full circle. While our environment has an undeniable impact on us, we have an equal and opposite impact on it. Let's make it a positive one.
