Found footage! I was going through my camera and found a couple of videoz of circuit bent past projects/tests. Here we have 15 oscillators (for this one, probably 6 or 9 out of 15) and the speak & math going through a passive ring modulator. Noisy and harsh.

This performance was recorded the 18th of February 2016 from a show called Francis et les exerciseurs on CKUT 90.3 FM. All sounds came form one instrument only, my circuit bent CTK500.

Here is my version of a handmade harsh noise synth. I made a clip for YouTube last night and recorded with microphones. I wanted a quick recording of some "line-in" action before I ship this one to him.

Circuit bent SK1

Often we have artists asking us, what can you do with the Lo-Fi Sampler?  We’re going to tell you… (and also show you…) read on…

We’ve got record, pitch, glitch, retrigg then sample/track it with whatever tool you prefer (daw) 🤘. Many don't know this but Kassia and I worked OBSESSIVELY to achieve the sound we wanted.  There’s no line-in, mic only! We added some filtering, amplification, smoothed out the glitch range, fine-tuned the pitch, and adjusted the retrigg function and volume control. Some of you suggested that it would be cool to add a foot switch to activate the recording, freeing your hands to play another instrument, so we did 😁! For our 2020 model, we've added a different pitch switch. You can rapidly activate and deactivate the pitch by passing a magnet over the hand/fingers of our logo. Ain't it cool? 😎

We made the Lo-Fi Sampler to simulate old school recorders. Back in the day, you would hit record and play, do your thing and not know what the outcome would be. When played back, you would be pleasantly surprised with how it would sound depending on where the recorder was placed in the room. If you’re weren’t pleased with playback, you would just start over.  Lo-fi greatness at its best 👌

So what can you do with a Lo-Fi Sampler?  On a personal note, I used to spend all my time writing songs, poetry and enjoying art in all it's forms. Nowadays, we are so busy creating instruments and keeping it creative that there's just not enough time. This past week, I decided to take the time to explore and have a bit of fun. Take a listen to this clip, it was done with 1 beat, 2 vocal tracks and the rest, our Lo-Fi Sampler Red Edition. I recorded everything in Ardour. As for plug-ins/effects; tape saturation, a bit of EQ and mastering. Video editing was done on my phone.
