Topiary Tower (Day)

Inspired by the game series Pikmin. A weird theme (and combat, item, and task variations) for a weird enemy, the Lipidon. It's a fatty Breadbug that just swallows items instead of dragging them to its den. I took a lot of inspiration from the style of cave music in Pikmin 2, as well as the look and sounds of the Giant Breadbug. I hope you enjoy it!

Fan music inspired by the game series Pikmin. A mellow cave theme, along with different mixes for facing enemies or carrying items. It was all made using one acoustic bass guitar, with heavy effects on plucking, producing harmonics, bowing, slapping, and strumming the tuning peg portion of the strings. I hope you enjoy it!

The Distant Spring

This was the music over my Youtube video about Pikmin 3 model trivia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWrVtwhoAUA), specifically item #4, looking at the models (used and unused!) of Pikmin and leaders in Pikmin 3. The music begins with a Hawaiian-influenced arrangement of the Pikmin discovery theme. The second half is the Pikmin 3 main theme in a style inspired by joropo, a Venezuelan folk dance music! I hope you enjoy it!

4. Pikmin Discovery/Pikmin 3 Joropo

This was the music over items #2 and #3, looking at the model for the Bulborb's eyes, and the textures that color its abdomen. It's all a loose arrangement using the Wistful Wild melody. Over #2 it's a funky ballad, enough said. Over #3 it's more lively, including a bit of music about normal textures inspired by Indian raga music! I hope you enjoy it!

2 and 3. Wistful Wild Funk/Raga - Pikmin 3 Model Trivia Soundtrack

This was the music over item #1, looking at the S.S. Drake spaceship model to get a sense of Pikmin 3's hi-polygon standard and to reveal a secret compartment inside one of the windows! The whole score is an arrangement of the S.S. Drake theme. The first part is just a ballad with a similar form to the original tune, while the second is a strange waltz I decided to arrange because it sounded nice and airy. In this extended version, I end up mixing the two genres!

I revisit my theme for the Lipidon, a made-up Pikmin enemy, but this time with the passionate panache of orchestral tango!

This was the music over item #5, looking at little details of the Candypop Bud model, and over the spoiler warning. It's an arrangement of the Pikmin 3's DLC Mission Mode theme, featured in such areas as the Clockwork Chasm. I can't really pin down a genre for it, I just had a lot of fun with it!

5. Clockwork Chasm Jam

A disco/dance pop remix of the theme that first plays in Sublevel 1 of the Hole of Beasts. It's a pretty quiet theme... until now! I hope you enjoy it.

Rounding out the soundtrack to I arranged to my Pikmin 2 in First Person video! This is a medley of Pikmin tunes including:

*an 80's ballad version of the loop that plays when you find a special treasure in Pikmin 2,
*a reprise of the Awakening Wood theme, and
*the "Today's Report" theme remixed with a little inspiration from Stevie Wonder.

Here's a couple little variations of a theme, "Clarity." It's music for explaining something, or for making something clear. I'd like to think that the third version is a broader or more subjective explanation. I hope you enjoy it!

This was the music over item #8, exploring the Quaggled Mireclops model and all its little details. I started creating a reggae rhythm for fun, and then mixed in bits of the Pikmin 3 boss theme like echoing dub samples. When it came time to lay down a melody on melodica, the Mission Mode/Bingo Battle menu theme was the first to come to mind! I hope you enjoy it.

Here's another original song! It's about space diving. I think it's apparent this isn't my usual style: I really wanted to step outside my comfort zone and try something heavier, livelier, and more juxtaposed than I normally do. Someone aptly described it as math rock mixed with lounge jazz.
