London-born, Caribbean-raised artist @thebusytwist joins forces with Afro futurist artist @ghettokumbe on a brand new release, ‘Candela’, out now via London Records.

Drawing on the raw energy of the Colombian jungle, 'Candela' is a hypnotic blend of driving vocals, pounding percussion and deep, bass-heavy grooves, fusing Caribbean house with Afro-Colombian rhythms rooted in West Africa.

While some guys will tell you now it’s all computers, at Turbo we know in our hearts that everything in life can be understood as a funhouse mirror. Sascha Funke’s massive 2017 hit “MZ” is one of the most iconic house records ever released on our label, and thus deserving of the ultimate honour: a remix pack reflecting each of the manifold facets of a modern dancefloor classic from the most prestigious and respected angles imaginable.

As studious Turbo watchers have no doubt clocked*, we have paid access to the halls of European power, where you get to make backroom deals with Emmanuel Macron and British Seinfeld as Opus’ “Live is Life” blares over a gigantic bluetooth speaker. And, yeah, you’ll probably run into the most celebrated European producers of our time. Pional, Axel Boman, Mano Le Tough, and Roman Flügel — these are the kinds of names you only see once you’ve reached the highest levels of success, be it in dance music production or purchasing the hottest tickets in town on your favorite mobile device. We called each on these titans to anoint “MZ” into the modern pantheon of club anthems, and you can bet your last eurobond that they delivered. But we also wanted some new blood, so we turned to rising Lithuanian superstar DJ JM. JM is now a deep part of the Turbo family, and he’s made the theoretical space between bad-boy cousin and beloved nephew fully his own with what we hope Rolling Stone Magazine will call “a distinctively modern edge."

In his take on Leonard Cohen’s 1988 synth classic, the Danish DJ turned producer takes his 80’s electro-pastiche to the next level with vocoders, mystical villain-speak and technicolor synths.

“It felt almost blasphemic covering a great like Cohen but I knew it had to be done. The song screams Cerrone and Moroder and I knew it would work in a slightly more clubby setting.” says the singer and producer.

The song is co-produced with another Danish synth-pop icon Niels Bagge Hansen better known as Vinnie Who. Bagge says “Once we dived into Cohen’s song there were layers and layers of synths and niceness to take from, so we tried to stay true to the original just adding a few roles that make the song ready for modern underground discos”
 
‘First We Take Manhattan’ comes off Boogie Rookie’s debut album for Music For Dreams, set to release in 2026.

The Girl Jus Pull Up EP by BNinjas is a vibrant, genre-blurring deep house journey that fuses jazz, funk, soul, and underground club energy with bold creativity. As part of the long-awaited Vol. 3, this track feels like a journey across time and space — a conversation between musical legacies that spans from Eastern Nigeria to the dance floors of Bogotá and beyond.

From Owerri, Nigeria, the legendary Igbo Highlife band Oriental Brothers International Band was formed back in 1973 by singer Sir Warrior, and great guitar player Kabaka. In 2023 they celebrated their 50 years of career with their first released album in 20 years! known for their powerful lyrics (whether it be of proverbs, or custom lyrics dedicated to particular people), and deft instrumental work, Oriental Brothers’ unique blend of highlife, merengue, and makossa style songs has been of a great influence to the African music lovers for decades, and one of the corner stones of the Champeta musical movement in Colombia - source: @palenquerecords

UPROOT ANDY is an influential Brooklyn based DJ, producer and composer whose sound explores the underlying connections of global dance music culture.
In 2008 he co-founded the legendary NY party 'Que Bajo' that, along with Andy’s signature remix style, helped pioneer the rise of global club music. Presently he
produces and releases his music with montreal based label ‘Moonshine’, producing for the twice Juno Award nominated ’SMS for location’ album series.
Andy has toured extensively in Europe and Latin
America and has performed in diverse settings from Ghana to the Congo, from New York's Central Park Summerstage to the Gilles Peterson Worldwide
Awards in London and has been a mainstay of Colombia's ‘Carnaval de Barranquilla’ for more than 10 years.

FACTORY SETUP nace gracias a una serie de DJ sets en formato back 2 back que comenzaron Joseeph y Zhino a mediados de 2022 por el simple hecho de compartir el gusto afín que tienen por la musica. 

Zhino y Joseeph se conocen en Bar Americas, ambos residentes del mítico club de Electronica en Guadalajara, MX, y descubren que tienen gustos muy similares. Joseeph invita a Zhino a un B2B en julio del 2022 y obtienen una gran aceptación del público. Después de varies DJ sets en conjunto y de encontrar el sonido que quieren proyectar, deciden bautizar el proyecto con el nombre de FACTORY SETUP. DJ sets, producciones y edits que van del House al Techno y al Trance, principalmente temas olvidados y desconocidos de finales de los 80 y de la década de los 90 y 2000, todo esto combinado con musica actual que mantenga o se acople a ese sonido.

Selección Dura: Factory Setup

Whilst much of the attention around Kate Stein & Lord Fascinator's Primary EP has focused on the raucous cowboy disco of Horse House and Asteroid's festival ready joyful melodies, it's time for the EP's closer, Le Petit Martien to get its moment in the strobe light courtesy of a new remix from Mehmet Aslan and with its intergalactic western vibe and Morricone'esque guitar twangs Le Petit Martien is a perfect track for the eclectic Swiss-Turkish producer to work with.

Having made his name with imaginative fusions of electronic, ambient, experimental and folk music, all of that is again on display here as Aslan pairs the original's western aesthetics with a disorientating beat and a writhing acidic melody that snakes its way through the song. Hypnotic and disarming effect in equal measure, it's the ideal track to reach for when the club is ready to get a little a little deeper and a lot weirder.
