We are happy to introduce a new upcoming series of releases under the name Scumtapes Singles Selection, or S3 for short! Focusing on singles by many us, our friends & other talented music makers we feel deserve some more attention.

To start out off, we have the ever so talented F. Tate break the ice for us!

F. Tate has been a fresh anchor in the jungle community, only being around for a short few years but making the impact of a seasoned veteran. releasing numerous releases on his own soundcloud & bandcamp pages. His style is often abrasive, with a mixture of harsh gangster rap samples, intricate amen break choppage & basslines to make your knees quiver. With this track, titled "individualty" he presses onward into more experimental Drill & Bass territory, whilst still retaining some the junglist roots he has become known & loved for.

A chaotic mishmash of break abuse and subsonic terror with mangled vocal samples for good measure. If you are an enjoyer of the early breakcore scene (think FFF, Venetian Snares, etc...), this track, and his first release, nobodE, will definitely peak your interest!

In this installment of S3 we have Chinesemidiboard providing us with some heat.

Chinesemidiboard is well on his way to becoming an institution in the scene. hailing from Russia, he has been making a name for himself in the jungle Dnb, Rave & hiphop/lo-fi communities respectively. He's also a Scumtapes alumni at this point, having been featured on the multiple TMFOF halloween compilations, and having collaborated with some of the core members of the group.

With his track "520 Deluxe" CMB defies the odds with a track that treads a fine balance between a bubbly, ethereal sound and pounding breakwork that creates a chaotic amalgamation that will surely be a mainstay for DJ's and listeners alike for a long time to come.

In this installment of S3 we got Will Fujiwara, providing us with the killer track "All the Time" off of his EP "I Told You It's Fucking Jungle"- released in October 2023.

For those not in the know, Will has been a mainstay of the scene for a while now. Hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has left an undeniable impression on the jungle DnB scene as a whole & is widely respected by his peers, ourselves included.

Known for his hyperconsistent output & classic junglist sound. he is considered modern jungle royalty, keeping the oldschool fresh & alive. He is also an avid collector of anything jungle-adjacent provided by his insane wellspring of knowledge which translates into his extensive catalogue. And if you happen to follow him on Instagram you'd know this as well.

Will has found success on previous releases on other labels, such as Yeska Beats & Yellow Jacket Records. With his track "All The Time" he doubles down on his emaculate track record. A smooth marriage between well placed & intentional Rnb, soul and gangster rap sample work mixed with juicy amen choppage that will surely have all comers alike frothing at the mouth.

Furthershore earned his sealegs in the modern jungle drum & bass scene of the last decade. Tracks tracing back as far as 2018 show a steadily growing library of breakbeat madness and even some forays into house & garage. Furthershore is also a near & dear ally to Scumtapes over the years, having been on multiple of the halloween comps, proving his metal to the fire.

With ONE BLUNT [SMOKE DA WHOLE WORD] Furthershore hits us with a more stripped down yet more direct oldschool amen-roller sound that eventually blooms into something more ethereal down the line the more you get into it. This is a grand display of his grounded maturity as a junglist producer that is dedicated to staying true to it's roots. in simpler terms, it's raw as hell.

 Having only been around for a short amount of time (from what we could find), they already amassed quite an impressive output. MAETHESA has been exploring the intricacies jungle & rave music. With more of a focus on hardcore breakbeat & oldskool jungle Tekno in their recent output. Characterized by blazing break chopping, rugged basslines with acidic hints & dreamy ethereal padwork. 

With their entry titled 'an angel', MAETHESA continues to explore down the path further of the oldskool jungle rave sound, presenting a groovy and highly addictive slugger of a track thats sure to impress. In this installment of S3 we have the venerable Hoosick joining the fray.

In the last few years, Hoosick has been making an undeniable splash within the alternative electronic music spaces.together With his collective BORING TECHNO has so far put out a memorable back catalog of music in a short amount of time that is fun, energetic & unexpected. He's also keen on collaboration and works alot with the likes of Blackm1nt and DJ SCAMLIKELY- shown on releases like BORING TECHNO 4 EVER and duality, just to name the most recent ones (as of time of writing this)- but don't be fooled, as a standalone producer Hoosick is undeniably a force to be reckoned with. 

His style is best described as Tight, A mixture of differing flavors of techno, High energy robust breakwork and nostalgic memphis rap samples. often lending to some sonic excellence. With his offering to S3, titled "Stewie", Hoosick doubles down on the method, delivering a wicked pulsing speaker knocker thats perfect for some high-energy clubbing.

In the eighth count of this installment we have Garbagio Garbageson breaking the jungle/rave streak with a bit more of a mellow smoother hiphop track for the warmer days to come.

For those not in the know, Garbagio has been a core member of scumtapes for a few years now. Joining the clique after meeting through mutual connections & finding a heavily overlapping interest in many things that have come to define scumtapes by that time, and building on that further. Garbagio has been on a fairly wicked hotstreak when it comes to releases under his own name & DEE-J@Y YUNG CHE$TA aliases for the last couple of years, with a heavy focus on hiphop production. Aside from this, Garbagio also engages in assisting us in the video & GFX department. He also sporadically live streams & is also a verified video-freak.

With his track, God Hates A Quitter, Garbagio returns to a more classical form with some smooth & easy listening instrumental hiphop. However, a defined sharpness present- which comes to show a refinement crafted & nurtured over years of intense dedication & craft.

Seynoe is a mixed bag. A young gun with a reckless creative zeal. he is not shy of dabbling in a multitude of genres, with an impressive output to back it up. From Breakcore to Jersey Club- Seynoe does it all with such an infectious energy that we at Scumtapes couldn't help but take notice. His output ranges far & wide, and has found itself with a strong supportive audience.

With 'scumweek', Seynoe provides us with a certified slugger of a track. A hard hitting Juke/break/work track that is sure to have the dancefloor erupt. Sure to satisfy a wide palet with elements of jungle (a prominent genre in this series so far), patterns reminiscent of juke & work tracks. And a tinge of jersey club to round it all up to a track only Seynoe could pull.

Last Exit To Schenectady, according to MOM$, was heavily inspired of the trip-hop downtempo beats of old, mentioning inspirations ranging from Nightwares on Wax to Pelican City - Last Exit is meant to capture a dreary, moodier feeling, considering the track was produced around the tail-end of the winter of 2024. Its intent was to give a feeling of dreary winter days filled with dread and stagnation, with a little bit of hope sprinkled in.

GARGOYLE, Otherwise known as Riley Crane, is a producer hailing from Philadelphia specializing in fast, harsh and glitched out IDM. His tracks range from nightmarish Acid bangers to ethereal yet heady glitch tracks. While only being a smalltimer, similar to many artists featured in this series so far. he has carved himself out a nice niche

Dreamweaver is in a way the epitome of his current sound. eclectic, tense but also oddly relaxing. for people more in the know about the genres he explores might pick up early warp/Planet µ influences, yet still styled and formed to a modern and younger sensibility that makes it uniquely his.
