Some of the best in the business when it comes to cooking up minimally-charged underground music, we're delighted to present GEST's third EP on Shogun Audio. This latest body of work, entitled the 'Superstructure EP', is the crème de la crème of GEST's projects since the pair's debut release under their current alias in 2020, acting as a captivating six-track frenzy that collates their signature drum and bass sound alongside some extremely fresh and exciting flavours. 

Showcasing what they're all about on the title track 'Superstructure', GEST put the spotlight on what they do best on this perfectly crafted underground, dancefloor-oriented heater. 

Moving through the EP, GEST ramp-up the innovation with two very special cuts of extreme sub-low brilliance. First up is the genre-defying 'Escalate', a dark, twisted, and industrial-sounding 170bpm 4/4 delight which we're sure you won’t have heard anything else much like. Next up is 'Lifter', a dance floor-destroying 140bpm monster that’ll drop jaws throughout clubs from Bristol to Brisbane. 

Following on from this feast of heavy artillery for any DJ is 'Loaded', which sees GEST team up with Bristol-based Javeon on an atmospheric, and melodic drum and bass track that's elegantly carried by deep subs and beautiful vocals. Last, but by no means least, GEST wrap up proceedings with the sub-slamming weapon 'Scolopendra' and the innovation and luscious sounds of 'Brutalis', two of their biggest hits from 2023.

I have to ask, is Scurrow ok? According to his parting shot on this EP; I Sit Very Weird When I Make Music he, well, sits weird and sciatica is no joke. Neither is the track itself, which is a full-bore excursion into 140 territory that manages to nail both the dub and the step parts. A right curveball of the best kind, it’s just a flat out weapon.
