Our narrator slowly dips into a bit of a mental state and basically shuts down. Much like the traffic that isn't moving at all. 

Lyrics;
The tail lights on the freeway
Go on for miles and miles
And it's looking like I'll be here
for quite a long long while

In the middle lane
No place to turn
Home is so far away
I feel a real concern

The traffic on this freeway
Has me trapped me in this car
A claustrophobic feeling
Like a bee caught in a jar

The wind is screaming
ominous sounds
And no one's moving
Like a bunch of trees rooted to the ground

It's an atmosphere of madness
My mind has gone off track
On a road of no return

Traffic jam goes on and on
I'm locking on to tail light glare
Going catatonic
'Cause I'm not going anywhere

My hands melt to the wheel
My feet become the pedals
The rest of me no longer feels
And I harden into metal

Transfixed Traffic

Hey music friends, this is my very first open collaboration. I've been meaning to to do one for a little while now but was waiting for a track to come along that has enough open space for additions but that can also kind of stand on it's own. I thought this one fit the bill. It's a minimal beat that I created using the Volca Drum with just a few melodic lines produced in Korg Gadget. One of the lines is accentuated with the Minilogue. I hope a few of you will be inspired to try working with it!

Feel free to use the elements in anyway you would like--  just the drums, just the melodies, or any combination. This track was developed based off a poem written by the same name and the emotiveness evoked from within it. In the semblance of life, there are crackles "spackling" the loveliness of the everyday. 

When we experience things in life, it is always wise to remember all of whom we are, deep within us. When we do this, the easier it is to keep everything else in an appropriate perspective... remembering everyone and everything are simply... energy. We are merely the vessels in which energy is processing through each life cycle in the physical three dimensional world. 

We can get caught up in the man made constructs, verbiage, judgments, etc. and permit them to disrupt the flow of our energy... or we can allow the energy to flow to us, through us, and then... beyond us. We can choose to absorb it, ask it to be returned to the sender, or (as we've chosen to begin as our own practice...) ask it to simply be returned to the earth for transmutation into the growth medium for something lovely, BEautifying, and helpful to the earth and for the potentiality of enrichment for all. We hope you enjoy this piece as much as we enjoyed creating it.

"This is a song that began as a bass line I came up with on my four string fretless over a looper. I shared it with Ken (K2 and the Three [and Four], Stephen (Tex Mex Shaman), and Tez (Llanpsych) through BandLan, which we're all on. Ken came up with some perfect drums, as always, to prop up the whole thing. Tez added some killer guitar solos, which you can hear more towards the end, with the ripping tone. Stephen then came in and added the talk box guitar and wah guitar that you hear playing the hook more towards the beginning. It's my first song ever featuring a talk box, and I'm amazed with the part he came up with. It's a major line against my minor bass line. I love how it sounds! Stephen also was kind enough to mix the beast for us, which turned out to be a herculean task. But he was up to it, and a fine job he did, too. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with these guys. We all hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it"
