The song sung by Arijit Singh & Samira Koppikar is a remake of the classic love song from the Hindi film Dayavan (1988). Twenty six years later, Arko rewrote its lyrics and music to suit the style of contemporary pop-music used in Bollywood film for Vikram Bhatt's 'Hate Story 2.' Kishore Kumar, Majrooh Sultanpuri and R D Burman excel in this song belonging to an eminently forgettable movie. Movie may be forgettable, but the song is such a nice one that you can listen to it many times over, without feeling bored, if you have the taste for such songs. There is nothing much to write home about as far as the movie or the picturisation of this song is concerned. This is one song that is better heard than seen. And as if on cue, the video of this clip is poor, though the audio is good. What can one say about this song? Such a nice haunting music, sung with great feeling by Kishore Kumar, and penned with such care by Majrooh. It is good that the song has survived, and in fact grown upon us, unlike the movie.
