As an artist, Lucy Cliché explores and expands upon the intersections between techno, industrial and looser experimental, ambient, electronic sounds. A critical force within the Australian musical underground for more than 15 years has seen Lucy build quite an extensive list of live performances, collaborations and releases to her name.

Lucy's musical outputs are ever-evolving yet uniquely her own, unified by a brazen and spirited approach to music production.

lavender, fake gold, salt is an ambient sound piece addressing the spaces, rituals, and sounds that surround my relationship with self-care and healing. Thinking about my connection to sound on an embodied, intimate level, I consider the sonic accumulation that exists in the everyday spaces I inhabit. Traditional Middle Eastern instruments are distorted and stretched, collapsing into drones, synths, and the sounds of jewelry being rustled around. How do we wear the spaces we pass through like adornments?

THE HIBERNATION SENTINEL

Philipp Zöhrer is interested in moments and atmospheres of collective ecstasy, in which a dancing audience gets into. Empty rooms, like those created everywhere by the corona epidemic, attract him equally. He takes us to the church ruin of Wachau at the outskirts of the city of Leipzig, where he is currently living. Exclusively for the Kunsthalle Darmstadt, the scenery is accompanied by a compilation of post-punk and wave music, whose melancholic and hypnotic sound takes you back to mythical times.

THE HIBERNATION SENTINEL

Philipp Zöhrer interessiert sich als Künstler für Momente und Atmosphären der kollektiven Ekstase, in die zum Beispiel ein tanzendes Publikum gerät. Menschenleere Räume, wie sie durch die Corona-Epidemie überall entstehen, ziehen ihn gleichermaßen an. Er nimmt uns mit in die Kirchenruine Wachau, die in seiner Wahlstadt Leipzig steht. Exklusiv für die Kunsthalle Darmstadt wird die Kulisse der Kirchenruine mit einer Compilation aus Post-Punk und Wave Musik untermalt, deren melancholischeu und hypnotischer Sound in mythisierte Zeiten zurückversetzt.
