Sea Legs' frontman Byron Knight had a personal encounter with an elderly crippled women whilst on travels through the US back in 1998. He got talking with the unassuming lady as she told him of her elaborate 'wildly colourful' life story. At the time he didn't take much notice of her seemingly tall tales, but later come to realise he was sharing stories with ex-hollywood star Katharine Hepburn who featured in films Christopher Strong, and The African Queen (1940). Her tales were amazing and true. Never judge someone based on appearance, take the time to learn ones story.

Sea Legs - Can I Get An Amen

Indie-rock revellers from Bateau Bay, Sea Legs, first emerged onto the Australian music scene in 2010. 

The good guy surfers immediately caught the attention of Triple J, who picked up the first 2 stand-alone singles for generous airplay and also managed to nab Rage ‘Indie clip of the week’ paired with a successful run on Channel V with one of their music videos. 

In this time, the group was consistently touring the East Coast, and laid down their debut EP on their travels, writing and recording the whole record on the road (in between a lot of surfing, obviously). 

The end result was ‘We Do What We Do When We Do What We Do’ which was released in 2013 and featured three singles, all receiving Triple J play and this time round breaking through the international gates.

The 4-piece indie-pop guru’s managed to receive attention from the likes of UK game changers NME and BBC 6, and picked up play on over 30 college radio stations in the US. 

The following year singles ‘Take A Little For Yourself’ and ‘Christopher Strong’ hit rotation on Triple J and charted at #3 on hypem.com through being picked up organically by blogs from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Europe. 

2014 also seen a much busier live schedule, with the 4-piece gracing festival main stages with the likes of Violent Soho, DMA’s, Ball Park Music and also hitting the road with good friends British India, Jebediah, Dune Rats and Lurch & Chief. 

After a little touring stint with The Growlers (USA) in January, the band is now putting the finishing touches on their sophomore record, which is due for release in May and will be backed up by an extensive national run in June 2015.
