Attack Of The Fluffy Puppies

So this is the first of what's likely going to be 4 tracks dedicated to my short lived FE2 carrer. FE2 is a roblox game that I used to totally grind everyday in 6th grade, and I began to make my own FE2 maps in roblox studio, which were pretty bad. This track is for my first ever map, Cyanide!

Cyanide takes place in an imploding poison factory. The players must escape the factory after the elevator fails, requiring you to venture into the very core of the factory and escape through an exhaust pipe while the facility slowly leaks cyanide through the walls.  It's almost a year old at this point!

Fun Fact: The lead is actually a preset arpeggio that I found by accident and altered slightly

01 - CYANIDE

Snowfall was definitely the best track of the original 3 before my November-Feburary hiatus.

That doesn't mean that it's still good! I've wanted to remaster this for a little while, but the old WIP from 3 months ago was... well listen to it yourself. I've improved a ton, and figured that I could make this for the Summer Solstice! This is my first orchestral song since October, and I feel like the improvements in my composition really show in this.

Although,  this is super messy. I was originally rushing this to be done for summer solstice, but honestly this was just too bad so I took a few extra days for polishing.

The best part? It still kinda sucks! The mixing is utter dogshit and the composition is meh. So many transitions in this suck.

Snowfall II: Winter's End

Frostbitten Gorge was supposed to actually be my second ever FE2 map! It ended up being my 4th due to me being unable to code what made it unique: the lack of flooding. Pretty much the idea of the map was that the platforms would collapse instead of you having to escape a flood. It was actually looking pretty cool after I'd tried to revamp it after making Serene Summit, but I ended up quitting FE2 before finishing it.

It took place in a revine that has an abandoned ancient city inside of it. The first half looks more natural, but once you go through a hole in the wall, you'll notice that there's the entire city within it, and a huge statue of their king.

Fun Fact: This was originally a Windswept Ridges attempt that I almost scrapped, but converted it into this because the melodies were too "happy" for Windswept Ridges' setting

03 - Frostbitten Gorge

Sometimes when I get really sad/anxious, I just entirely disconnect from everything and lay on the floor of my room for hours at a time with my headphones on. I usually put my phone on silent to really space out from the outside world so I'm alone with my thoughts. Though sometimes, I end up thinking to the point where I actually have an anxiety attack, which I've done like twice in the past three months.

However, I decided on the day that I started this song that I would actually be productive with my time in seclusion, so I began to work on this, a song that captures what I'm going through when I'm lying on the floor like a sack of potatoes thinking about my life.

Disconnect

When I made Breaking The Seal a year ago, I had literally no knowledge on music theory. The song was just note spam, and lemme just say that I got really lucky with making the melodies sound good. So here we are. This song is a year old now, and I'm roughly 14 years older.

So yeah! Here's a new version started exactly 2 months after the previous one. It's definitely the most unique take on this song, as it almost entirely scraps the old format in favor of something more melancholic than angry, and like the context has changed if that makes sense??? 

Hopefuly uploads will be more frequent now that this monstrosity is done!

-Originally this was going to end with pads playing the main chord prog, but I decided the somewhat intense end fit better.

Breaking The Seal VI: Encore

Cyanide is a song that I actually almost made a year ago at this point! That's really weird to think about and I'd rather not talk about it because that makes me feel way older than I am. It was one of the last songs I made before remembering what a key signature is, so I feel like revamping the compilation and also actually FINISHING it can be a little fun side project because Inner Demons is getting kind of tedious because I'm trying to stick to one style.

Anyways, I decided to go for a different approach to this track than I did back last June. It's a lot more dramatic because of my drama addiction, and also doesn't use guitars anymore because soundfont guitars suck!

Cyanide II

Serene Summit was a song that I made on a whim, and as with most of my older songs, I grew an obsession to it, despite it being kinda mid. Though honestly I think that it was an okay song comp-wise! It's main problem was the melody in part 2 being offkey, and the mixing was atrocious, so after fixing those I think we have a much better song that still keeps most of its original form (Unlike Cyanide and the next remaster coming :/)

Okok so I was gonna upload this on the equinox but my dumbass forgot to actually check when the equinox was so I'm a day late sorry guyssss

Anyways!

This song is a remaster of the last song I wrote before learning some actual music theory, which also means that the original was kind of sorta maybe hot garbage. It also had like the WORST sound design ever. Like I have no idea why I decided to use the instruments I did, but they make me want to barf. And don't even get me started on that key change there was noo buildup to it and also the song wasn't even written in any key so it's not even a key change and I'm getting really mad just writing about it.

 I'm gonna be completely honest and just say that this is an entirely different song that took the chord progression (and even then I only kept the root notes because I built the chords wrong originally), and the intro drum patterns. Everything else is entirely new, and if I'm being honest, that's a VERY good thing, because the original was irredeemable.

Frostbitten Gorge II

This is really my first EDM-type song and I actually really like how it came out! I tried to make this song all the way in June but couldn't really get the vibe for it right. It was supposed to be a dark and gloomy, but somewhat intense track. Instead we got Frostbitten Gorge V1.

So for this take, I decided to make it less gloomy, but it still has *that* vibe. I don't really know what the vibe is, but even though it's somewhat jumpy and energetic, I wouldn't call this a happy song. Like at all. Anyways, I'll stop filling up the entire description with word vomit! Hope y'all enjoy this.

Oh yeah also thanks to everyone who helped me with this song with their feedback! Wouldn't have been nearly as good without you guys ;)

Windswept Ridges

So I was listening to V3 recently and I just felt like it was... lacking. It has like no low frequencies, sf2 drums, and also just lost its momentum after the drop. So guess what this version fixes?

This version has fixed mixing, some extra sound design, and some altered composition, of course! (Also the problems stated above) It has a somewhat more intense tone now, too, as I feel like v3 went too far into the emotional factor. It feels like a fight again, and not a group therapy session!

Back when I was still in the FE2 community, I had a cool idea for a map where there were whole segments where the threat was more "current" than drowning, as the water would be able to push players out of windows and stuff. This map would take place in a dam. Who woulda guessed? 

Anyways this song was actually kind of hard to make, because I was trying to go for something more similar to Frostbitten Gorge and Cyanide's style, but I've literally only been doing EDM for the past few weeks so it was kinda hard to get back into it :(

I'm pretty happy with the result though! Only one song until the album is finished!

Decimated Dam

Firefight is a song that I made in January 2022 when I began to start making original music again after about 3 months of MIDI edits, and boy did that show! I didn't know what a key was, or how to compose chords, or make the song have genuine structure...

The list goes on. The song was a hot mess. V2 was made last September(?), and it's a lot better! It still has a ton of faults, though, which is why I've decided to make V3! It was actually one of my hardest projects ever, because I wanted to give it a more unique vibe to it than V2, and don't even get me started on mixing this song it was an actual nightmare

FIREFIGHT III

This is the last song in the album! It's weird to think that what was originally a side project due to burnout from my actual first album turned into the real first album (tho I'm gonna call this an EP cuz it's not really super connected it's just a bunch of songs with common inspirations).

Anyways I actually had so much fun making this

Usually I burn out after I get past the drop of a song, but for some reason I just never stopping having fun while making this one. Maybe it's just because I'm finally doing a non-EDM song for this album for the first time since like Windswept Ridges (Decimated Dam was kind of a hybrid). I really like the direction I took with this song, too. It feels somewhat emotional and fragile, while still somewhat intense, which is what I was going for with this song.

I'll start work on Inner Demons again soon ;)

Tidal Temple

You know how you usually act different depending on who you're talking to? That's what this song was about. I did this so much at the start of the school year I began to question who I was. I didn't even truly understand myself or even really have a grasp on who I was and who I wanted to be. As time went on, I gradually began to open up more, and through the late night phone calls with my friends and the rants in my jounral, I was finding out who I was. That's what gave me the confidence to finally start talking to people more and begin to heal.

Anyways this song was fun to remaster because I didn't try to force my new instrumentation on it too much! I just used a new piano and some actual sampled drums! There are also a few changes to the compesition, such as me realizing that the chords were messed up (honestly they still sounded pretty good they were like sus4 chords but the top note moves instead of the middle) then having to spend 10 minutes making them sound sadder. There's also no pause between the intro and the rest of the song cuz I thought a downriser would sound cooler.

I guess you can kind of think of this as a sequel to Burnout. I'm finishing my first year of high school, and I've just been soooo tired. However, Burnout was about being overwhelmed, while this one is feeling heavy. Like I try to listen to my friends and their problems, but I just can't tell them about mine. I'm always afraid that they don't care as much as I think they do, and that maybe they'll see me differently. I only vent to one person, and I try not to vent to her too often to try and keep our convos happier.

But onto the song itself!

This is my least favorite song in the album. It feels really weird compared to the other songs but the people I asked for feedback liked it so I've just decided to post it. I DID make some last minute changes that made the song a lot better, such as replacing the lead instrument and the second arpeggio, which was a CHIPTUNE instrument. Like bro what was I on when I decided that was a good idea ;-;

I'd say the inspiration behind this song is pretty self explanatory. Things are always changing in our lives, and sometimes those changes can be extremely overwhelming to the point where you just want things to be the same for once. I'm experiencing a lot of change within myself too, and I'm not really proud of those changes. I feel like I'm lashing out a lot more, and just being a pain to be around sometimes.

But anyways this song is pretty much just filler to make the album 15 songs. It's pretty average for the album, and there's nothing really to drive home about this song. It didn't take too long to make, and the comp is pretty generic for me, but the next song for the album will be really unique ;)

We've finally reached the climax of the album after almost a whole year since it started! Making this song was a huge journey for me. It took me over 8 months, used over 20 instruments, and is the longest song in the album (I mean it's technically 2 but the first one is like 1 minute long :p). Instead of this song being made to represent a problem, it represents the making of the album itself. Making it required me to think a lot about my life and everything that's wrong with it, and identifying those problems is what's helping me recover.

Anyways, enjoy the song! It came out a lot better than I thought it would!

It's been a whole year since I started this album. That's honestly kind of crazy to think about! I originally planned this to be a few songs; 7 at most. I had the entire track list planned out, and was pumping out songs for the album at a somewhat constant pace. However, by the time I'd reached November, I'd begun to burn out regarding the album. I had reached my initial goal of 7 songs, but I knew that I wasn't anywhere NEAR done. 

So, I took a month off. Then released 2 more songs, and then I realized how poor the quality of the first 5 songs were, and I began to remaster those songs. But after redoing the third song, I burnt out again, and dropped the album for almost 4 months. I released Facade II on June 10th. In 31 days, I've released 8 songs for this album after not working on it for 4 months. This whole experience has been a huge opportunity for me to grow as both a musician and as a person. I know how to express myself better, and after feeling like everything's going to fall apart for 2 years, I finally feel like things are gonna be okay in the end. 

So thanks for sticking with me through this! This song marks the end of this album, but who knows what's coming next?

Back to school song! I would say expect less frequent uploads but I haven't uploaded in a month!

Being honest, this is my first song that I've been proud of since July. Sorry about being so inconsistent with my uploads recently. I just burnt out HARD after finishing the album. I've been working on songs but I haven't actually been uploading a lot of them because I just don't like how they are. Also, this account is running out of minutes, so I'm trying to use my uploads sparingly.

Anyways onto the actual song! 

I had a LOT of fun making this song. It all started because I was trying to improve my abilities surrounding producing around vocals. So, I downloaded a vocal pack and started messing around. I heard that "3 2 1 GO!" sound and was like, "BRO THIS IS HEAT", so I structured my song around that and other vocals at the same tempo. I just really love the energy and vibe that it has I guess!

This EP took me 3 months to make. That's actually astounding to me. 

After finishing my album, (8 songs + 1 non-album song in a month!) I burnt out. Hard. It was like I lost my spark to create music, and I hated everything that I made. Then, in late July, I randomly asked a friend for a key and a tempo, and she told me 160 BPM and F Minor. Ruinae was made less than a week later! It took a lot of time, but I slowly began to build my stamina back up, and I released Freakout in late August. Then, in late September, I finished Breakdown, which leaves us with Memory Box and this song as the last two! 

I really like both that song and this one. I feel like I sort of lost my style with the former 2 songs, and going back to my somewhat electronic rock roots was REALLY NICE. I'm definitely gonna stick with this hybrid style of EDM and rock. I feel like it's what I'm best at, and let's be real: EDM is a super saturated genre anyways!

Happy new year!!!!

I've been waiting to remaster this song again for a while so finally getting around to it was pretty nice. I just sorta zoned out and enjoyed myself for this song rather than focusing on innovation or sound design like a lot of my newer stuff (also why I haven't uploaded since October...)

Another reason why I haven't uploaded in a while is because this account is dangerously low on minutes. This is probably the last song I'm gonna upload on it, so keep an eye out for announcements regarding my new account sometime this month when I (hopefully) finish my next EP
