Last year for Liquicity Festival I brought one of my best friends with me so I could show him the weekend that I look forward to every year. His name was Calvin, and he was one of the most genuine people I've ever met. He had never been abroad, so immediately bringing him with our group to the Netherlands was one of the greatest experiences I've ever been able to give anyone. For the week in Amsterdam and the 3 days at the festival, I never saw a smile leave his face (except for when it was over, I joined him crying about that one), and I could see he was having the time of his life. Seeing him that happy made every moment even more worth it, and I knew he would need to be a regular Liquicity attendee from then on out.

In January this year, I lost Calvin to suicide. There isn't a single day that goes by without my heart aching, wishing I could have one last conversation or tell him how much I miss him. The only solace I have is that he no longer needs to fight his own demons, and can rest peacefully. Whoever reads this, hug your friends, your family, the people you care about. Tell them you love them, because you never know where they can go.

I love you and miss you, Calvin.
