Song for Cecilia

Last summer I had the privilege of teaching at the Brubeck Institute's summer Jazz Colony. This recording was taken by one of my students. It documents an incredibly special night in my life. Performed with one of my favorite individuals and former band mate in the BIJQ, Sarah Kuo. This performance took place at Take 5 jazz club,  a place where she and I share many fond memories. We were lucky to share the stage with two masters who were also on faculty.

This was taken from a recent SBQ set at Outpost 186 in Cambridge, MA. At one point in the tune, my Tascam recorder appeared to be clipping so I turned the gain down. Consequently, the volume drops right around the 6:15 mark.
