Recorded with iPhone and Multitrack DAW App using Sony lavlier mic clipped to bell (player's side, not listener's side).
Backing track from "American Song Classics" published by Hal Leonard (book + CD).   I had to split the stereo track and mix it back to mono, though, to get rid of the very annoying (and robot-like timing) "chimes" cue notes, which is a bummer because the stereo backing track sounds much fuller/richer.   They should really have two versions on the CD (wouldn't cost a penny extra) - one w/ cues and one w/out.    Oh well, still fun to play along with.  . .

The Lonely Flugelhorn

Normally when I practice on my trumpet or flugelhorn I really can't choose whether to play jazz or classic...and why should I? So I made it a habit to play around and combine the two together. Here is a little part I recorded for you.  I call it Jazzic. If you like it  I challenge you to record your Jazzic Improv and share mine.

練習やら実験やらいろいろ兼ねて
福山雅治のSquallをフリューゲルホルンで吹いてみた。
下敷きになってるのは福山雅治本人が歌ってるバージョン。
ゲルホン吹いてるのは勿論、アレンジからピアノからパーカッションまで
全部オレです。
一応技術的情報を書いておくと
ミックスはProTools、
後ろの伴奏は実はGaragebandを使いました。
(ピアノやパーカッションもガレバンに最初から入ってる音源）。
あと、フリューゲルのレコーディングは実はDAWを使わず
ZOOMのハンディーレコーダーH4nのMTR機能を使ってます。
マイクもH4nに直繋ぎです。

何回か吹いて使えるところをつなぎ合わせたりはしてますが
ピッチ修正は全くしてません。

フリューゲルホルンはゼンハイザーのMK4という
コンデンサーマイクで録ってます。
