Two Rode NT1A overheads in Glyn Johns Mic'ing Setup (One over left side of kid facing snare, other over my shoulder facing snare-Both equidistant from snare batter). Factory preset "Rock" settings in Logic.

This was a demo done in 2005 with cover band Conrad Bain featuring Jerry Chao on Drums, John Herritt on Guitar, JC Michel on Bass and Sean G. Dolan on Drums. It was done in one pass with no extra editing done except on the vocal which was recorded in 2020. Enjoy!

Don't You Forget About Me

A legend is gone, but, his music lives on forever. God rest the soul of John Prine. This version of his legendary song Angel From Montgomery was recorded by my good friend and insanely talented artist, Ashby Stokes. I sang backup harmonies on it and was honored to do so. I found this to be a fantastic re-interpretation of the original placed into a Rock setting that still honors the sadness and despair of the original. There's one key line in the song that evokes an intense moment of anger that is not present in the original, and I thought that to be SO effective. How can someone stuck in such a dark place emotionally not have anger somewhere in their heart? I hope Ashby doesn't mind me sharing this, but, I absolutely love this version of such a legendary song. To Ashby: I miss you, my friend. I hope the years we have been apart have been good to you and yours.

Angel From Montgomery

This was a track I sang on and co-wrote with a band of extremely talented musicians. Amit Dhar on Guitar, Kenny Lane on Drums and Jared Scott on Bass. It turned into a song vaguely about Mother Earth and how she'll be fine when we are long extinct. Dark tune for a dark time. Why not? This was a raw mixed demo we did back in 2006 or so, if I recall correctly.
