During this summer we started writing on our 32nd song. We tried something different: deep and melancholic. We had no idea where it would take us and how the public would receive a jam like this.

The reactions were amazing the first time we played it out at Ruigoord on Georgie's Wundergarten (see: https://youtu.be/AxJoDOfI8io). The second time we played this jam during our debut in the south of Holland at Losjes it caused a spontaneous sit-down.  After that we decided to give something back to all the dancers and smiling people. 

We recorded the jam onto video and also released it on Soundcloud and Spotify.

Eli Brown is undoubtedly one of the most exciting up and coming UK acts on the tech house scene at the moment. He first pricked our ears up earlier this year when we picked up 'Keep On' as an Ibiza Underground album exclusive. From then he went on to release on Viva, Repopulate Mars, Of Unsound Mind and Sola to boot. So it gives us great pleasure to welcome Eli to the new breed of Toolroom Family as we present his debut EP on the label, 'Sumatra'.

Eli has created 2 tracks of mammoth proportions here; 'Sumatra' is a pure peak-time tech houser that flies along at 100mph with tribal percussion galore and a driving wood-hit that doubles up as a quirky hook. Eastern Jam slows things a little and grooves us out with some stunning tribal chanted vocals making this a perfect EP for Mr Brown to showcase his sound.

Expect to see and hear a lot more from Eli & Toolroom in the Future.

Sudanese musician Emmanuel Jal.

The remixes come from Henrik Schwarz and Olof Dreijer (The Knife) and they were 
originally compiled for the SUDAN VOTES MUSIC HOPES campaign by MICT.

In this campaign several organizations across the globe have come together to promote
international awareness for the referendum in January 2011 in which the people of South Sudan 
voted to decide whether they wish to remain part of a united Sudan or whether they want to become 
an independent country -
9/7/2011, South Sudan's independance day.

But as always with Innervisions releases: let the music speak for itself.
