Earlier this month my sister and her husband hosted an intimate gathering for 15 or 20 of us on their beautiful piece of earth in the heart of the Kootenays. Even for such a small event, it still took a lot of planning and hard work to bring together. We all pitched in to rent a big sound system, and I was honoured to play my first set in front of other humans on it Friday night. It ended up being cold and rainy, but the majority of folks stuck around to thrash it out with me. Thanks to Matt and Katie for all their hard work to host, all my friends – new and old – for being there to listen, Rob Maciak at Calgary AV for renting us the system and answering my million questions, and my partner Nicole for her love and support through the prep and performance.
