Marsha P. Johnson (August 24, 1945 – July 6, 1992) was an American gay liberation activist and self-identified drag queen.

Known as an outspoken advocate for gay rights, Johnson was one of the prominent figures in the Stonewall uprising of 1969.

Sean Den is a DJ and producer from Derry Ireland. He released on the first Polari records Compilation, No Tears In The backroom VOL 1 and has his debut Polari EP in 2024.

Fast-rising producer Sean Den takes centre stage as the debut artist on Sarah Story’s new label and events platform, STORIES. His track ‘Don't U’, which is out on August 9th, marks the third release from this dynamic imprint, showcasing the label's commitment to fresh and exciting sounds.

Fresh off releases with Polari and Stories Recordings, Den serves up three originals and a blistering remix from Bicep’s Hammer, cementing his status as a producer with both nuance and nerve. The lead single, “Universal Signs,” has already electrified venues from EXIT Festival to Circoloco Ibiza, while securing a trio of coveted spins on BBC Radio 1 Dance. Den’s signature – a fusion of muscular grooves and melodic intuition – anchors the EP, offering a kinetic journey through House’s many shades. It’s a statement not just of comeback, but of reinvention, proving Midnight People’s reboot is in lethally good hands.

Premiered here, “All Over Me,” is a trance-soaked revelation. Den layers euphoric, sawtooth synths over a progressive framework, building tension with precision before unleashing cascading peaks. On this episode we have a proper gent and a good friend of ours, Sean Den, with a one hour mix of everything house.  Expect feel good tunes of old and new - a perfect pairing for a sunny day with your favourite drink in hand!

Sean shot onto the scene when his talent was recognised in 2018 by Belfast legend Timmy Stewart, who chose him as the winner of AVA Festival's Emerging DJ Competition.  Since then, he has played alongside some of the biggest names of the moment in house music, and warmed up for the likes of Big Miz, Elliot Adamson, KETTAMA & Skream.  Sean has also played the infamous Thompsons Terrace in Belfast on a number of occasions for the Electric Playground parties.

On top of all this, he runs his own event series, 'Strictly Vibes' - a house focused party where the name speaks for itself.  We hope you enjoy this mix as much as we did!

With a sound that tugs on the pop-electronic heartstrings of the 80s, while simultaneously reimagining vintage club sounds through a contemporary lens, Irish producer and DJ Sean Den is placing himself at the forefront of the island’s romantic blend of Italo, Disco and House. 

Following in the footsteps of Irish producers, DJs and party-throwers Jordan Nocturne, Timmy Stewart and Cormac, Sean’s blend of ethereal summer-time and peak-time, queer-affiliated sounds have won him admirers all over the world, from TSHA and Sarah Story (who has supported a number of his tracks, most notably during her FLY Open Air Boiler Room in 2023) to Jaguar, Cinthie, Massimiliano Pagliara and Pete Tong in clubs and venues across the globe like DC10,Fabric, Pikes and Pacha to name but a few..

This thrilling sequence of straight-up house, nu-disco acid and electro-clash is made all the more ear-catching with the bumpy basslines of Italo and the squelchy throwback of the 303, earning Sean a string of renowned releases on The Disco Express, Stories and Cormac’s Polari Records, the latter of which where the producer has released three times; as part of Polari’s first VA No Tears In The Backroom from 2022, the first ever ‘Pamely Stanley’ edit on Polari – which made waves throughout the 2024 festival circuit – and his debut standalone EP on the label titled ‘Summer In London’.

As a DJ, Sean pulls from the House sounds of Cinthie and Derrick Carter, the 80s aesthetic of Prince and the cosmic otherworldliness of Krystal Klear and Hammer, all of which twist and knit themselves through the fabrics of Chicago and Detroit. 

Having supported Fatboy Slim, Annie Mac, Patrick Topping, Kettama and Dense & Pika, the vinyl-playing selector is just as comfortable in a big-room setting as he is in a small dark room with a banging soundsystem; capable of meandering towards those big-moments while also maintaining the headsy, dancefloor-glued sensibility of a journey-DJ, earning him slots at AVA Festival (where Sean won an Emerging DJ competition back in 2018), Emerge Festival, Berlin’s Bulbul Bar, London’s 25 Paul St., Belfast’s dance music institution Shine and Derry’s Jika Jika, and mixes for Emmett Read on SWU.FM and BBC ATL Introducing, where the Sean has taken control of multiple broadcasts, two of which were recorded live from Celtronic and Stendhal Festival. 

With a string of releases in the pipeline Sean looks set to build on what is already a glowing reputation; adding his own piece to styles of music that are just as much a part of the sonic culture in Ireland as they are in their transatlantic states. From the tribalism of Acid House at early Art College parties, thrown by David Holmes in Belfast in the 90s, to the modern interpretation of the sound in The Night Institute – where Sean would regularly attend  – Sean’s take on Balearic breakbeats, Chicago House, Detroit Techno sees him pulling from the sonics of a bygone era and breathing new life into them via ethereal euphoria and a trademark bumpin’ groove.
