In honor of Donkey Kong's 40th anniversary, I've decided to make this track that I've only played in mixes for the past two or so years public. 

Donkey Kong Country and subsequent games have always been favorites of mine and it's not infrequent I find myself listening to the original Aquatic Ambience from DKC for long stretches on loop. 

If you happen to see this, Smooth Mcgroove, I hope you don't mind me putting this online. I even purchased your version off of Bandcamp. ^_^

Even with this being a bootleg remix of sorts, this nonetheless will always be close to my heart.

To Be Born from a Wish was heavily inspired by the soundtracks to Silent Hill 1-3. For a period of time, I found myself listening to nothing but radio static and Akira Yamaoka's original compositions to those games. For anyone familiar with the series, you might know how those two things pair surprisingly well.

Tinted Rose was influenced by DJ Lag. I saw him perform and then began to write this track. I wouldn't call it a "gqom" song, but it certainly inspired it. Perhaps it's a cross between gqom and Chicago ghetto house. Something like that.

To Be Born from a Wish

I realize this may be rather late, but I simply have had limited time and space to provide an adequate eulogy for my late friend Andre Prozorov. While we never met in person, him and I talked quite a lot and it makes complete sense as to why he was such an appreciated person within footwork, juke, and hip-hop circles. He ran his label Zona Musica with the priority of spreading great music internationally and would pack up and leave Brooklyn for a new adventure with frequency on what appeared to be an impulsive basis. It's really, really disappointing him and I never managed to do a show together either in Detroit or New York City like we often would discuss. I know I at least am going to miss our late night conversations over the phone where he may or may not have drank a little too much and was mostly just eager to exchange new songs we recently had heard and enjoyed.

Upon finding out about his very unexpected passing, the piece "Fermata in Mistic Air" from Silent Hill 2 continued to play in my head for hours. My recent obsession with this video game franchise and Akira Yamaoka's soundtrack work are certainly the primary reasons for this, but nonetheless, I knew that a proper way to honor his memory would be to remix it in his name. I'm sure he would gleamed with this knowledge.

Also, I just want to give BRVWVDE credit for helping to inspire this track artwork.

A Requiem For Those Burnt [Joog Music Compilation Track]

Seanni's Late Night Fantasy Diner is a conceptual piece intended to replicate the experience of sitting by yourself and alone with your thoughts as the overhead radio plays a mix of vibey, chill, and moody video game soundtrack music from a fictitious radio station called “Fantasy Diner Radio.”
This is something I began mulling over shortly before my father passed away. I explained to him this conceptual radio DJ mix and he thought it was a really cool idea, so it only felt appropriate to follow through with this project. He was always very supportive of and interested by my creative endeavors. So, in turn, this release is dedicated to my late father, George Barry. I'm sure he would have liked it and I miss him every day.
