Amid wry and poignant observational lyricism lies the utter timbre of McMahon’s voice; a gentle ache that coaxes
delicate, earworm-like melodies in a way thats wholly believable and moving.
Recorded with Roger Bergodaz over several sessions at Union Street Studios, the album features a fine cast of
Melbourne talent including vocals from Broads’ Kelly Day and fellow Blind Date artist Freya Josephine Hollick.
Uncluttered and focused in its arrangement, this is a confident record that ebbs and flows lightly, yet displays
immense character and weight with each pressing moment.

Sean McMahon is a busy man. While the world has quietly held its breath, he has been working methodically through a series of musical projects that share common themes relatable to people with a heart and warm blood. 

The latest is a single entitled Janelle. It tells the story of a childhood soul mate who once provided some much needed support when things were dark. The experience left a lasting impression and served as a wonderful life lesson in self-love. 

Sonically speaking, Janelle is akin to slipping on a warm winter coat during a storm, with the soothing  timbre of McMahon’s voice providing welcome solace in a world that has clearly gone mad. 

It’s a delicate piece of alt-folk beauty, probably best enjoyed at home with a glass of red and in the company of someone you love. Which is 2020 in a nutshell.
