Argentinian talent Nacho Scoppa returns to the label with a five-track EP dedicated to renowned football club Newell‘s Old Boys in Rosario - Rojo Y Negro.

Nacho Scoppa is steadily making his mark on the global Tech House scene, collecting an impressive catalogue of releases on a growing number of the genre‘s leading imprints. Following his last offering in 2020, he returns to the label with an impressive new collection of tracks. 

Opening the release, ‘10’ sets the pace with racy rhythms and driving low-frequency power. A heavyset Kick and sub-bass combo create movement alongside rippling percussive layers whilst subtle melodic injections and soulful vocal runs fill the mix. 

‘No Excuses’ comes next with more percussive-focused allure. Another sturdy beat and rumbling bassline connection build out the groove of the track whilst swinging percs glide alongside brightened tones and feel-good harmonies from end to end. 

‘Rojo Y Negro’ keeps the energy at a premium with another terrace-ready weapon. Hollowed out sub-bass fills the space between weighty drum work and blistering instrumental sequences as the track goes through a relentless ebb and flow of rising melodies and subtly swirling vox layers. 

‘Rosario’ takes things deeper, focusing on underground flavours and intricate layers of carefully constructed melody. Keeping the top-tier exhibition of drums and bassline composition in place, the track rolls around directional percussion and stirring vocal samples to keep you anchored into the groove.

‘CANOB’ closes the release on the front foot via another masterful display of heavy Tech House with mammoth bassline drive and punchy rhythmic factors. The track is driven along by a dominant and catchy vocal topline, passing into different atmospheric stages in between relentlessly danceable segments!

Tech Avenue returns from a needed six-month break period, some necessary time off for our team after celebrating three years, and seventy-five consecutive bi-monthly releases.  Catalogue number TAR075 marks our most anticipated sampler to date, showcasing a mature Tech Avenue sound that we've grown to know and love. The compilation features a collaboration of various artists from all over the world, coming together at a common Junction. 

Historically, the Junction series has been the perfect way for us to round up fresh faces that display a remarkable production prowess and diverse taste in their specialty, and include a wide pallet of genres. This compilation, however, is a variation from the traditional Tech Avenue VA sound, with elements that cater mainly to Tech House music lovers. VA releases are a time for us to reflect on all we've accomplished during the last few years, a time that has seen drastic change in the way music is delivered. New artists have been added to the label, and some recognizable ones continue to act as the needle that threads our labels fabric. 

Crafted with love and care, Tech Avenue Records is excited to put forth this playlist of songs, and seventh compilation that represents the original sound of the label since it's inception. Going into 2024, we will re-calibrate the direction of sound we procure, in hopes of continuing to deliver a fresh and relevant musical perspective. We hope you enjoy what music remains from our awesome 2022-2023 repertoire.

Up next on Brooklyn’s Scissor & Thread is the latest EP from @Snad, aka Shyam Anand (also known as Spandrel), the Berlin-based artist whose discography already spans labels like Smallville, Minibar, 20:20 Vision, Phonica AM, TerraFirm, Running Back, Cabinet, Kimochi and Dungeon Meat with remixes for names including Seafoam and Chez Damier. 

A trusted selector and producer in the underground, Snad has steadily built a reputation for deeply considered productions that balance classic inspiration with his own forward-thinking edge.

The AM Yard EP opens with its title track, a warm, hazy cut rooted in the kind of bassline architecture that recalls Chez n Trent’s Morning Factory but reshaped with Snad’s signature dreamlike touch. 

Anticip8 fanchors the release with a more direct energy, rolling, insistent and focused on the floor, balancing stripped-down drive of dusty samples wrung through his digitakt with just enough harmonic flourish to pull the listener inward. 

On the flip, The Pursuit follows in a slightly different mode, drawing on experimental vocoder techniques and filtered percussion creating a hypnotic push-and-pull that feels as intricate as it is understated.

Rounding things out, label heads Francis Harris and Anthony Collins, under their Frank & Tony alias, reimagine The Pursuit with their Housebeat Remix, extending its atmospherics into an even deeper headspace that glides effortlessly into late-night territory.

The next release on Libero comes to us from esteemed Argentinian artist, Gruuve. The Barcelona-based talent presents his ‘Dancing Till We Die’ EP, which comes equipped with two original cuts and an impressive remix from Mexico’s Fhaken. Explicitly upbeat throughout, the entire release boasts emphatic volumes of dancefloor energy from open to close.

First up, ‘Dancing Till We Die’ sets you on your way with ample amounts of momentum from the offset. Intelligently pitched percussive strikes give the track not only a captivating bed of rhythm but also add to its melodic-heavy focus - which progressively envelopes you throughout the journey. Its swaying groove, sultry vocals, piercing highs and rumbling lows will keep your feet moving from beginning to end.

‘Nothing To Say’ adds some more beef to the mix with its thumping energy. Leaning away from rolling momentum and taking on more of a bounce and wave style, the focus here is yet another masterful interweaving of instrumental layers. Sporting a subtle funky undertone, it presents itself as a track that falls firmly into that standout terrace track category. A culmination of flare and class.

Closing the release in a commendable fashion, Fhaken’s remix of ‘Nothing To Say’ adds even more fuel to the fire - taking things up to peak-time stomper level. With a more modern Tech House feel than its predecessors, the mix of thudding kicks, sizzling snares and bright sub-bass notes blend perfectly with that subtle percussive underbelly which shows promising adaptability to our signature Libero sonic signature.
