A rough draft song that swings between 12/8 and 4/4. So far, I’ve recorded the (very) rough guitars, vocals, and harmonies, ￼and programmed the strings and drums. ￼ I need to record the bass. Just wanted to put this out there to get some feedback. ￼

Yellowed Leaves (unfinished demo)

About 10 years ago, we were at my wife's grandparent's house for Thanksgiving, and I'm laying in bed next to my wife who is falling in and out of sleep. I decide to try out the mobile Garageband app. I can't plug my guitar into the phone at the moment, so laying there, I just tell it what chords to play and then whisper-sing over it, save it. I finally returned to it all this time later and this is how it sounds now.

Another rough draft with no vocals. This time with piano and bass a little more present than usual. I’ll definitely go back in fine tune all the guitar and some of the piano parts. ￼￼

These recordings are the sonic equivalents of doodles in a sketch book. They are notes and epiphanies in a musical moleskin. Hopefully, I will develop some of these ideas into fully-realized songs. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I primarily use my Big Baby Taylor acoustic, an old Ibanez electric EDIT: now Fender Tele, and Apple's GarageBand.  No longer in a garage or in a band, just making music with a computer and a pair of headphones.
