Track five from what is likely to be called Orbits Of Tender Indifference. Woke up one morning with the word 'isthmus' in my brain for no reason, and it fits this song I think - two similar pieces bridged. Maybe.

Remix of Kennedy Wilde's track Crash, with a 90s pop bangerz feel. Somewhat different to my usual oeuvre, but damn it was fun to work on. Crash (maff remix)

Track i've-lost-track for new album. This one has taken fucking ages to birth. Actually had to go back and power up my old mac to retrieve it as I'd forgotten to bring it over, and woke up humming it, then realised it was on the trash heap. A labour of love, and not one I was ever sure would see the light of day. Pretty happy with how it turned out, though it sounds precious little like the thing I had in my head originally. I think.

Track eight, from Orbits Of Tender Indifference, which will be released this year goddamn it. I have around six other tracks that could make the grade as well as some other random crap I might be able to make usable.

Murmuration

Getting there, albeit slowly. The title track for orbits, which is inspired by a line from the fantastic Samantha Harvey novel Orbital (if you haven't read it, do so). A few more tracks in the works, and some other ideas starting to coalesce. The idea of releasing an actual album is odd to me, despite being something I've wanted to do since I was about 15.

Orbits Of Tender Indifference

A track that was initially going nowhere (you could argue at over eight minutes long with about a single change it still does that...) but kept demanding to be made into something. So I did. Did not end up how I expected, which is part of the joy of this. Into double digits for tracks now, and almost double digits for run time. Maybe one day I'll write a sub-five minute long song again.

By Way Of Comfort

One of the things I love about writing music is when you have an idea that sits for ages, quietly, waiting for you to figure it out. This was such a piece - I'd almost forgotten about it, then messed around with it and realised it was great. Title inspired by reading Stephen King on my back step.
