Rossini’s hysterical BARBER OF SEVILLE takes its intermission just as Rossini has frothed up the madness and mayhem with one of his trademark “crescendo” ensembles. All the characters (and chorus) are running around the stage like lunatics, wondering whether their brains will survive all the chaos and confusion of this ridiculous comedy. Seattle Opera’s production stars Sofia Fomina as Rosina, Margaret Gawrysiak as Berta, Andrew Owens as Count Almaviva, Will Liverman as Figaro, Kevin Glavin as Dr. Bartolo, and Daniel Sumegi as Don Basilio; Giacomo Sagripanti conducts the chorus and orchestra of Seattle Opera.
