Samantha Joan Nutt, CM OOnt is the founder and Executive Director of War Child Canada. She is a physician with more than sixteen years of experience working in war zones. Her 2011 book Damned Nations: Greed, Guns, Armies and Aid details her work over the course of fifteen years in some of the most devastated regions of the world.

Dr. Payam Akhavan is an international lawyer and professor at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is a member of the permanent court of arbitration at the Hague. Akhavan was born in Tehran, Iran and moved in his childhood to Toronto, Canada because of the persecution of the Bahá'í religious minority before the 1979 Islamic revolution. He has since played a leading role as a pioneer of international criminal law and global justice. He is regarded as a leading scholar and practitioner of international law and human rights and he is an important figure in the Iranian human rights movement.

Dr. Charles Kimball is Presidential Professor and Director of Religious Studies at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. Between 1996 and 2008, he served as Chair of the Department of Religion and the Divinity School at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. During the 2006 fall term, Dr. Kimball was the Rita and William Bell Visiting Professor at the University of Tulsa. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and holds the M.Div. degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. An ordained Baptist minister, he received his Th.D. from Harvard University in comparative religion with specialization in Islamic studies.
