Burning Man this year was truly unforgettable, filled with incredible adventures and endless inspiration. Here’s a small glimpse into the musical journey that went down. This is from my set at Sonic Soul Tribe (the only set I have a recording of). It brought me back to an old-school style of DJing with CDJs that don’t auto-sync, so some of the mixes have a more 'human' touch. :o) Hope you enjoy this little slice of the #BurningMan2024 experience!

Seb Genre, en quelques dates.

1993 - C’est mon arrivée dans la région de Montpellier qui marque ma première rencontre avec la musique électronique. En club, d’abord. Dans le milieu gay, l’acid-house rythme déjà les soirées du mythique Phoebus. Jusque-là, mes influences musicales tournaient autour de la pop, du rock, de la new-wave et du funk. Ces nouvelles sonorités et la puissance extatique de leur rythme m’ouvrent un nouvel horizon. 

1994 - C’est le temps magique des premières raves. Dans le sud de la France, les principales organisations sont Dragon Bal et Boréalis. La musique électronique me dévore ; je prends conscience de la révolution sonore qui se prépare. C’est à cette époque que j’achète mes premières platines et que je joue mes premiers mix. J’intègre, dans la foulée, Positive Evolution où je participe à l’organisation des soirées du même nom. 

1997 - Nous décidons de rouvrir, à Nîmes, le club techno le Temple que nous rebaptisons le Clan. Une unique soirée d’inauguration aura lieu, les autorités décidant de fermer le club le lendemain. Signe qu’à l’époque, la techno est encore mal vue et surtout très mal comprise.

2000 - Rencontre avec de nombreux artistes internationaux . Ma perception de la musique électronique connait un tournant décisif. Mon style, alors plutôt dur, s’oriente vers une techno plus minimaliste et mélodieuse, sans doute plus complexe aussi.

2007 - Je réintègre Dragon Bal pour quelques soirées, dont Propaganda au Zénith de Montpellier et au Parc Chanot de Marseille. Je rejoins également le collectif Bunny Loving, avant qu’il ne soit dissout, et fais un set très remarqué au festival Electronic Evolution 4. 
Depuis, je joue aux quatre coins de la France, en clubs et en soirées.

Dernièrement, je crée avec ce dernier le collectif Wnk, collectif de DJ ayant pour but principal d’apporter un son plus élitiste, par les choix musicaux des DJ's en faisant partis;  ainsi cette année, je collabore avec BEARDROP en jouant régulièrement  comme Guest dans leurs différentes soirées a Paris et en province
