Sebas Ramis - Inner Islands # Episode 019

The Black Light Disco Show swaggered back on to myhouseradio.fm with another fun packed show full of musical chicanery for your listening pleasure. 

Hosting the show from the sauna in BLD Towers is Goz, who was gradually turning the temperature up and getting the steam going with a set full of funky hot stones and towel-whippings. 

On guest mix duties we’re excited and honoured to have the fantastic and super-talented Greg Middleton join us for his BLD debut. 

Greg first began collecting vinyl and learning the DJ ropes in the early 90s, introducing himself to the DJ scene by spinning various forms of house music at bars and clubs in Coventry and Birmingham before moving onto playing at famous London venues such as SW1 and The Cross.

Throughout the Noughties he was a regular on both sides of the booth at Brixton-based club night Gettin’ Hectic, which, blessed with an eclectic and varied music music policy had a fair few barnstorming nights. Inspired by these influential club nights, and the emerging Edits scene, Greg set about developing his own eclectic style which is built on two key ingredients - groove and soul.

Greg has since held a three-year residency at the Big Chill Bar (one of London’s long-established venues) where he gained a reputation for genre-hopping sets spanning Funk, Soul, Hip-hop, Disco, Nu-Disco, House and beyond. He started his own club night, Borderline in 2018 bringing his eclectic, funky vibe to South-West London

When COVID-19 hit last year, Greg began his 'virtual' Borderline Lockdown Sessions, doing live streams on Saturday nights throughout the pandemic, with lively chatrooms and a growing following. 

Greg is a master at spinning different sets each time out; meticulous track selection and a flawless blending of genres is the name of the game, and this set for BLD showcases all of those considerable talents.

An ambassador of the deep house culture bubbling over in Spain, Sebas Ramis is an artist fully emersed in all aspects of the underground scene. His productions have landed on many of the leading imprints under the house music umbrella, including Quantize Music, Puro Music, Plastik People, Purple Music and of course his very own Sub_Urban imprint.

Sebas has also founded several record labels, Malo Records, Sub_Urban, Puro Music, which is home to the famous Purobeach compilation series, of which Sebas has produced 13 double cd of the series and is still recording new episodes every year in digital format. Sebas was resident dj and Globa Music Director of Puro Group from 2012 to 2020. Developed Music brand for UM Beach House (Mallorca/Ibiza), in which he is still involved. And in 2022 was Global Music director for Zuma Restaurants, where he remains as an Audio Consultant for new openings in 2023.

In 2021 presents his first album "Life Goes On" with the participation of stellar cast of artists, singers and vocalists such as: Robert Owens, Sabrina Chyld, Life on Planets and Lee Wilson among others.

Heavily influenced by west coast house music, he refuses to be boxed into genres, mixing everything from house, soul, afro house, salsa.
