Having recently celebrated its second birthday with the release of ‘100% Continental’, a best-of mix conceived by its A&R/DJ Jerry Bouthier, Continental records now stops off in Japan for Boys Get Hurt’s new EP: ‘Your Love’ featuring Cinema Citizen.

Already noticed for his remixes (Reflex, Chela, Autokratz, DCUP, Pherotone…) and with several releases under his belt (including a track on the ‘Bonjour Colette’ compilation), Tokyo-based Yuki Abe AKA producer/DJ Boys Get Hurt gets his inspiration from the melancholic feelings the end of summer inevitably brings about, a personal and evocative sensibility in tune with the land of the rising sun’s delicate culture. Yuki expertly crafts bouncy disco-house music with sprinklings of electronica, indie, ambient, hip-hop and R&B – perfect 2014 pop to our ears.

On ‘Your Love’, a meaningful song to practice your best dance moves to, he has teamed up with male vocalist Cinema Citizen - Nobuki Akiyama, borrowed to band Ykiki Beat - for a boyish declaration of love in all its teenage glory.  Dutch rising star NSFW gives it a slick makeover with a deeper twist, whilst French hopeful Avantime takes a slightly more introspective route. Let’s not forget the sublime B-side ‘Sea Through’, a tantalizing, hypnotic disco merry-go-round which shows the prolific Boys Get Hurt is far from being a one-trick pony.

U/ME found himself rocking the dance floor in the clubs shortly after moving to San Francisco where he spent the next 23 years honing his craft and developing businesses that supported the artists he so revered. From artist management, to records labels and from events to music licensing, U/ME made very move with a passion to support underground dance music.
