Japanese producer Lycoriscoris aka Yunosuke Senoo makes his Anjunadeep debut with a bold 6-track EP, encompassing his wide-ranging electronic, classical, and jazz influences. 

With two albums under his belt on Japanese indie labels, he garnered impressive A-list support from DJ Koze, Michael Mayer and Dominik Eulberg over the past 12 months with his release on Kompakt’s KX imprint. 

This was followed by a memorable contribution to the iTunes #1 Dance album ‘Anjunadeep 08’, the contemplative ‘Drop’, reworked by Jody Wisternoff and James Grant especially for the compilation.

Presenting his most expansive project to date, Lycoriscoris showcases a meticulously crafted journey through electronica, from the trippy tones of ‘Sur Oiseau’, the record drifts into the upbeat groove of ‘AS’, a quirky blend of organic sounds and experimental percussion. 

Title track ‘Drop’ weaves delicate low-end beneath an emotive piano line before the dreamy pads of ‘Lush’. Penultimate track ‘Her’ layers guitar riffs and intricate melodies alongside stuttered percussive sounds ahead of the EP’s blissful finale ‘MSK’.

Ukrainian producer Lugovskiy returns to Steve Angello’s SIZE Records with his N.002 EP. 

The long-awaited follow up to N.001, N.002 is the second in a three-EP trilogy from the Eastern European DJ, and leads with ‘Let U Go’, a jaunty production led by the vocals of Chris Calvert.

Having teamed up with the vocalist on previous track ‘Broken Glass’ – which received strong support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, ‘Let U Go’ flaunts wistful chords, and a cosmic-sounding breakdown led by rich, downtempo beats. The EP’s title track, ‘N.002’ follows a similar path, focusing on thought-provoking synth patterns, and luscious melodies.

Hailing from Kiev, Lugovskiy’s sound is firmly embedded in the electronica/ambient genre, stating the likes of Bonobo, ODESZA and SIZE label boss Steve Angello, as his key musical influences.

Cementing Lugovskiy’s distinct sound, and rich tones, the N.002 EP is set for release on 18th May, solidifying the Ukrainian reputation as one of the most exciting producers around right now.

Dallic – Debut

Diederick van Loo, previously part of the powerhouse duo Propulsive, is back under the new alias Dallic, (combining the word ‘psychedelic’ with his own name).  On October 2nd he launches his debut LP Debut, and this is an artist with support already strong from the likes of Hardwell, Sander van Doorn and Lost Frequencies.

Reaching a total of twelve tracks, Debut comes straight from the heart, and he explains: “My debut album is nostalgic, atmospheric and even a bit extraordinary. It tells the personal story of my life… beautiful memories of safety, freedom and euphoria, but also darker times, like living with anxiety, doubts and the desire to remain living in a safe haven.”

The record features lead single ‘Focus Shift,’ which landed a spot in the Viral 50 chart in The Netherlands and 1.7 million streams on Spotify. Dallic also has 1.4 million streams via Apple Music for his work.

Bubbling with intricate energy and progressive melodies, the LP takes the listener on an emotive journey. From the flickering opener ‘Hyper Focus’ to the synth-driven ‘Safe,’ Dallic showcases diversity within his production.  ‘No Lies’ particularly grabs attention with strong 80s vibes running clear. Striking vocals shine with progressive flair, supporting its incredibly catchy melody.

Dallic goes on to add: “When listening to the album, you can hear the influences of the music from the time I grew up, from the 80’s ‘til now. Some tracks even switch between past and present day. My goal is that the listener will time-travel through his or her own life, remembering several important emotions while listening.”
