Welcome Brothers. Tonight's Release is "Cooking", 'Dreamer',2013 (Just me on this one) This is a very important song for me for many reasons. All the Tracks from my 'Dreamer' Project were written in pairs. 'We're Equal' & Dry are sisters. Ditty don do dat & Bone saw are Brothers. Rich man & cooking are a joke followed by an explanation. "Cooking" is as close to an instructional video as I will likely ever do. This is my 'Cooking' Style Defined musically in under five minutes. This was released as just another tune on dreamer but Its cooler then that :) It's a somewhat dry look at taking a solid, simple theme and cooking it till its well done. Then deconstructing the ideas back to their simple origin. It naturally forms the shape of a pyramid. I try to present it in a way that lets the listener expect what will happen next. Every thing is intended to be conversational. Like one musician Showing his favorite technique to another. In great detail. One last note... This is more like a mix of literature and art for me. It has a strong thesis. Colorful supporting ideas and a defined structure. When the 4th section (Distortion) comes in I see a big stone wheel at the top of the pyramid sharpening sound and shooting out little sparks of Jazz. Lol.. I just had to share that :)  ... OK ... Cooking

Welcome Brothers. Tonight's release is "ETheoHyway", "Morpheus",1992 (Me on Bass). This is the first song I wrote for Morpheus. It was entirely written as a 'final' for my first year 2nd term in music theory. I don't remember what I was supposed to be showing with this piece really but I got this tune out of it. This is the most physically demanding piece I've ever written by far. The continuous drive of the bass is mind numbing to play. It was a little kid playing with a new toy "Music Theory". There is a vocal half way through 'Classic Josh Tyree'. The original Title of the song was "E Theory Hell (Opus) and The Highwayman (Body) " Obviously this is not a workable title so we changed it. Morpheous - ETheoHyway

Welcome Brothers. Tonight's release is "F.U.P.C", "Still Funk'in' Crazy",2014 (Just me on the new CD) This is another Sketch from upcoming my release for 2014. As I've mentioned before my "Sketch" means work in progress. So this is unfinished. The vocal still has some bad choices in it and no formal drum track yet. The most '''Important''' thing I can say about this song is "I DO NOT FEEL THIS WAY",.... 'anymore'. This is a terrible message. Its the only song I've ever written that I simply can no longer stand behind. And that is coming from 'Me'. I wrote this for "The Idiot Savants" in 2000. Yes I do have a formal Studio version of this track. I don't want it to follow 'Cuzn' Pat Young around anymore so I'm rerecording it. At that time I was a very conceited little @#$%. I was also very married and working in the public eye. So needless to say I was often in situations where I was one of the last available males in the room and I had usually just played a killer show so options were not a problem. Welcome Brothers. Tonight's release Is "Be an Idiot", "The Idiot Savants",2002 (Me on Bass) This was the Idiot's Theme song. The First song at every single show we ever did. This song has at least 500 messages in it. Take your pick. I fully support them all on this one. The main message is "Focus, Dwindle you perspective and let your mind be free" I suck at this one. But life would be so much easier if I was good at it.  I love this little tune with all my heart. Hope you dig it too Brothers :) 'Peace'

Be An Idiot

Welcome Brothers. Tonight's release is "Y Day Do Dat", "Still Funk'in' Crazy",(All me on this CD), 2014. Here's something I haven't shown you brothers yet. Its my commercial production work. This represents another term I use often 'Model'. This is a 'model' for a short, modern, driving film score. I'm currently In the midst of another crazy "Brother Mason" Project that no one understands. I think its genius of coarse. I love free Running. Very few people know this but I spent many years studying Aikido. The old school way. Barefoot on rattan mats. So I understand the beauty of sport when filmed properly. I'm also a huge Bruce Lee fan. He would be a 'Free runner' if he was alive today. Its a noble sport. You need no gear. You just decide to go and let nothing stop you. That's exactly how I write music. I'm going to reproduce this to fit the finished product of coarse hence the term model. I'm co-writing this with "Graphium" from the UK. An excellent Soundscape artist. But this version is all my work. No copyright on this one. Don't need one. The end product will be very different. So if anyone digs it, sing over it, sample it, and as always If ya like it capture it. Keep it. distribute it. That's half the reason I work at all. Bla, Bla, bla, Sorry I talk forever :) Bottom line. I want to do for free running what 'Rocky' did for Boxing. I want to make it determined and Romantic. Thanks for listening. Y day do dat

Welcome Brothers. Tonight's release is "Dirty Little Puppet", "Still Single(s)",2011 (All Me here) This is a special little tune. Its a fairly old recording now. Its very personal. Still Single is a loose collection of songs written at pivotal moments in my life.  I think you can here Whats happening to me in every one of these tracks. This is my Addiction and Recovery song. There is no lead in. Many beats are, not uncomfortably, but very intentionally, early. The whole song screams "Right Now!!!", This tune is a lot like "Ditty Don do dat" I'm expressing the same emotion "Frustration". With Diity I had a regular gig, and couldn't write. With puppet I had problem that wouldn't let me write. When I started this tune I was literally dieing. When I finished I was better. The whole thing is recorded right here. Welcome Brother's Today's release is "Honey Hush", by Albert Collins, as played by, "The CABB" (Me on Bass), 2009 from "Live @ the Iron Horse", This is another classic Live Blues track from Me & the Criag Allen Blues Band. Its for all you awesome Brothers and sisters out there. I've been in writing mode for 3-5 days not really sure how long lol. So this is a break for me (Much needed). I could feel my mental door closing. That's a bad trip that happens when I'm writing. Usually lasts for months. This is a great diversion. This is just very pretty work. Its me doing my job. Honey Hush

Welcome Brothers. Tonight's release is "Paranoia Bees", "Manic Weekend session",2013 (Me on Bass & production, 'William Creswell'  Vocal & guitar). First I just want to say.. If ya get a chance check out Brother Wills work here on Fandalism. This is a neat little tune. Its an audio image of 'Paranoia'. We were really feeling it at the time. I think you can hear it. This is the take that nobody but me likes :) It has an obscure whispered second vocal. Its like a constant voice in the back of your head. The more the lead vocal wants you to focus on it the more insistent the little voice becomes. We put a lot of crazy manic thought into how to produce it so it would sound paranoid. Its essentially a cool 80's sounding B side :) but if you feel like thinking hard, that option is available lol. The CD version of this tune is much easier to listen to but it misses the point. Paranoia Bees (Take 2)

I'm not a fame chaser. I'm a working bass player. I prefer to be a member not a leader. I'd rather have my career in the hands of others and focus on my craft. My favorite words are appropriate, accurate, artistic, contextual, emotional and work (in the proper context).

Hey, what up brothers.

I'm a working man. I take sessions almost any time I can get one. I do stand in gigs usually in Blues, and Country but I'm not afraid to comp any style. I do "Join" bands on occasion but it has to be a 'creative' endeavor or a 'reliable' source of income.

BIO: I moved to Oregon to be a Bass Player. That was the plan. We founded "Morpheus" (Some regional renown, limited national exposure, a big project) when I moved to Portland OR. We played live till we bled. We recorded "God of Dreams" Morpheus, 1992 at "CastleRockenStien" in Portland, OR. It was during The "Morpheus" sessions, early 90's, that i started to record tracks as a session player. At the same time, in between runs, I spent two years training in theory and composition. I was also lucky enough to learn from, and study, Gary Fountaine from "Nu Shoozs". An excellent and versatile, funk, R&B artist. (Lost everything) In Eugene I founded "The Idiot Savants" a talented, satirically minded funk\Punk Project (limited interest, mostly in Europe). At this time I was doing random bits for "Three Rivers" (small studio in Eugene). In the end we decided to record "Mel" The Idiot Savants, 2001, at "blind Pirate" studios outside of Eugene OR. (Lost everything) I moved to Klamath Falls Oregon for a good paying gig with a touring blues Band "The Craig Allen Blues Band". A good band. Regional. Good money for a working bass player. Did that for four years. Lots of big shows. Good crowds. While with Craig I was afforded the opportunity to record some excellent live tracks. "Live @ The Iron horse" The Craig Allen Blues Band, 2010. It was recorded Live at at the Iron Horse Rodeo in Lake Selmac, OR. and formalized in "Wing an a prayer" studio in Medford, OR. (Lost everything). I'm moving to Vancouver WA. I have my hands and interest invested in more then a few new projects and I even picked up a little new studio time. So that's me to date with a ton of bands, people, and memories missing. Let the tracks speak for themselves. After all, how much do you really need to know to hire a quality bass player. "Peace".

Studio: 
I'm anticipating the release of an awesome, brand new set of recordings, by Jon Jone's, featuring Sebastian "Brother Mason" Jaross (me) on the bass. Its some of the most delicate work I've done to date. I'm very proud of it and can't wait to share.

Live: 
I'm only taking occasional stand in shows right now. 
Also: 
I've been doing some live work with "Dee Dee & The Bandits". An eclectic Country band with some good players. It features William Creswell, lead, "The Cowboy", rhythm, Jandy Irion on drums, Sebastian "Brother Mason" Jaross (me) on the bass, and of coarse Dee Dee on Keys and lead vocal. 
Also: 
I will finish forming "YT" very soon. The best band that only happened a few times. I still want J.j. Hannum on lead. Hes good. I'd love to put Kyre on the drums but I lost him (E-mail a brotha). Still looking for that magic vocal. I'm going to post some lives from the "YT" experiments on another site.

Writing: 
I have two new Solo projects I'm looking to develop with the right group of artistic individuals: 
#1 "Dreamer" (Alternative: funk, R&B, Singer Song Writer) in need of production. 
#2 "Still F'in'" Crazy" (Alternative: Metal, Rock, Singer Song writer) In development phase (Still writing).
