This song was from the early days of the band, Aleece Krasinski (Noujaim) helped write the lyrics.
I still have very clear memories of doing the vocals on his one. I was in my dorm room and my bed was elevated to allow storage underneath. I didn’t have much stuff so there was space and i was just under there, singing into an sm-57 i was holding in my hands and it was the first time i ever did a vocal double, then a subtly mixed-in octave-up version, which is kind of a tricky thing on a bargain-level 4-track tape recorder…it requires a fairly major commitment of bouncing/merging lots of important tracks down onto 1 or 2 and then committing to the vocal takes early on and bouncing them down together and on and on…but we were all pleased with the way the layered thing added something a lil’ more special.

Thanks for reading if you happened to read this far. Not sure anyone will ever really care much about this stuff…but i suppose i think they are kinda special, otherwise i maybe would not even remember and then also think to take the time to write it out. Selfish,  shellfish me. : )

This is a a solo live demo recording, as i was refining the drum pedal. It is one unedited take with me doing guitar, vox, and controlling the drums with my foots. 
I  cowrote this song with Adam Daniels of "Unknown Boy." I had the chords and drums and bass in shape but was unsure of lyrics/melody, i showed it to Adam and he was inspired and wrote it impressively quickly and well.

I think the ending to this song is probably the most beautiful moment i've ever created in any of my art. i love the chord progression voicing i added on the acoustic guitar. i think it is like a minor ninth or something weird. but it just sounds so beautiful to me.
