Jupiter, the most revered planet, is known as the Greater Benefic due to its association with abundance and prosperity. In ritual magic, Jupiter spells are believed to bring boundless good luck and expand resources and blessings. However, Jupiter's power extends beyond mere luck.

In Eastern astrology, Jupiter is connected to the guru or spiritual teacher, representing the energy of spiritual learning and inner guidance. Referred to as the light of a thousand suns, Jupiter emits spiritual illumination rather than physical light. Although Jupiter is a gas giant and could have potentially become a second Sun, it acts as its own miniature solar system with sixteen moons, including Ganymede, which is as large as the planet Mercury. Jupiter's gravitational force is second only to the Sun, and its intense heat, caused by rapid rotation, leads to expansion both physically and metaphorically.

Jupiter governs the zodiac sign Sagittarius, symbolizing exploration and freedom. Sagittarius encompasses not only business and administration skills but also a thirst for new experiences, cultures, and spiritual pursuits. In ancient astrology, Jupiter also ruled Pisces, associated with artistry and mysticism. As the first of the spiritual planets in karmic astrology, Jupiter represents the higher self, elevating the personality's vibrations.
