Glittering Waves

Winner of YM2149-music competition at SillyVenture 2010. 200Hz replay rate tune composed with maxYMiser.

Blink

Soundtrack of the <a href="http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=19068">IN4K Announcement Intro</a>. The tune was created as assembler data blocks by hand and uses a proprietary software synthesizer programmed in C.

The synth is able to create three different waveforms: pulse with variable pulse width, saw and noise and has sustain/release volume control. Like the music editors on the Commodore 64, each individual instrument uses a table for the waveform and note pitch. A new value is read from the table about 50 times per second. With this technique, changing the waveform and note pitch can be used to create more complex sounds like drums.

Crystallized

My entry to the oldschool music competition at Assembly 2007.

I wanted to create a tribute to Jochen Hippel a.k.a. Mad Max and his style from the early 90's as I simply love his works from demos like Life's a Bitch, Dark Side Of The Spoon and Ooh Crikey Wot a Scorcher. That's why I only used digi-drums and plain YM sounds without any other timer effects.

Agent Hippel To The Rescue

My entry to the Silly Venture 2016 YM2149-music competition and also my first ever tune using the DMA capabilities of the Atari STe. Just wanted an additional track for the drums so I didn't do anything fancy with the DMA :)
