Alan Cerra makes his debut on Yomo Records with a stunning 2-track EP.

The Argentinian producer and dj has been on a roll recently with his releases on Mango Alley, 3rd Avenue and Dopamine White being supported by some of the biggest names in the scene.

"To see the music you make is so well received in so many countries is so cool. Seeing that all the dj and producers you've admired all your life are now playing your music is something you literally can't explain", Alan said in a new interview with Progressive Astronaut.

'Polaris' and 'Falling Back' showcase Alan's unique sound design talents including swirling pads, cavernous synth stabs, and multilayered basslines atop percussion-heavy grooves.

Tash's Movement Recordings opens the month of April by welcoming Alfonso Muchacho back to the label for a new EP. With a career that spans a decade, the UK artist found his footing early on, showcasing his music via long standing imprints such as Bonzai Records and Beatfreak Recordings, while progressive music tastemakers such as Hernan Cattaneo quickly took a liking to his dance floor minded creations. 2019 marked Alfonso's Movement Recordings debut in the form of the well-received 'Stranger Danger' EP. A bond with the label was nurtured going forward, with the London resident returning in 2020 with a powerful remix of Forniva's 'Tinkerbell'. Now as we enter 2022's second quarter, Alfonso returns to Movement with a three-track showcase 'Walk on Water', alongside a remix from Matias Chilano.

Returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Walk on Water' is Matias Chilano. As a regular on the label since making his debut in 2017, the Argentinean artist has delivered two EP's and three remixes across two calendar years. Now considered a veteran of the progressive music scene, Matias continues to choose his projects wisely with standout releases for Higher States, Meanwhile, Or Two Strangers, Proton Music and Sudbeat, while genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J remain steadfast supporters. Now presenting his first production of 2022, Matias returns to Movement with a groovy take on 'Walk on Water'. Electrically charged with perfectly manicured beats and sleek rhythmic structures, its progressive appeal beams brightly from the outset. Voluptuous bass lines and lively percussive arrangements marry striking stabs and gaseous sweeps as the first act evolves. Looking to further the emotional narrative, Matias makes great use of the mean theme and vocal gates during the break, letting them drift less pronounced amidst colourful effects and wispy atmospheres, before a thumping drop shifts energy into a key-changing finale.

As we move towards a new generation of legendary artists in the making, we take a look at some of the tales they'll be telling in the form of our new series on Juicebox Music - "Fables". Etching their mark in today's world with their unique and powerful style, these individuals have a special destiny waiting for them.

The first edition of "Fables" sees us visiting Argentina for the sounds of 'Agustin Pietrocola', 'Alan Cerra', 'Jesuan M', 'Pedro Belardo' and 'Unusual Soul', followed by a long journey north for the echos of Colombia by 'NuFects' and Mexico's 'David Podhel'. We then sail across the Pacific to listen to the songlines of the Australian brothers - 'Rodskeez' and 'Mars Monero' and then continue the passage into India to hear the mythical stories of 'Rudra' and 'Funksun'. A stopover across the border into Pakistan to witness the chronicles of "STEREO MUNK" and "Cryptic Realms" and finally flying over to Sweden for the Nordic folktale of "EMPHI". These are their Fables.

About a year on since their last incursion on the label, acclaimed German duo Township Rebellion resurface on Stil vor Talent with a fresh new three-tracker, right on cue for the busy festival season ahead. Titled "Doppler" after the EP's eponymous lead-track, this new effort also comprises two previously released cuts remastered to further compelling effect, bound to make quite the impact on the dance floor with their all new, fully revitalized sound design. Music to sync your brainwaves and jack your body to, unremittingly. 

As per each occurrence, Township Rebellion show themselves eager to take over the clubs' sound systems with optimum style and firepower, and "Doppler" sure attests to their inimitably floor-efficient approach. The lead single "Doppler" is no stranger to Township Rebellion's signature blends, flush with tribal-infused motifs, peak time cliff-hangers and thunderous outbursts all set against a progressive epic of soaring synths and skull-crushing kick drums. Dwelling the interzone between pure big-room banger territories and unpredictable drifts into wider, open-ended electronic realms, their music eschews classification, forever that nomad sound roaming the confines of DJ functionality and frame-breaking otherworldliness. 

Both presented in sharper-than-ever remastered versions, "Baud" and "About A Tribe" makes for perfect contrapuntal companions to the electrifying, broad scale epic that is "Doppler". An ominous call rallying all souls eager to sail off onto higher raving spheres, "Baud" leaves no stone unturned in its machiavellian plan to merge all dancers in one throbbing mass of energy. Meanwhile, "About A Tribe" showcases the pair's intuitive attraction towards mystique-imbued folk music and polyphonic rhythms, infusing that soulful melodic search into a blazing maelstrom of hi-tech electronic engineering, piano-house addiction and wistful, post-trancey hypnosis that will have you climbing the stairs of euphoria on your hands thru and thru.

Musique de Lune opens the fall season by welcoming VITE and Hole Box to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Mexico, both VITE and Hole Box have emerged from their country's avant-garde electronic landscape with a distinctive organic sound. Noted for their attention to detail, arcane musicality and inventive drum arrangements, the duo's craft shines through vividly, making each one of their creations an absorbing experience. The duo's combined discography is highlighted by releases via trendsetting imprints such as Akbal Music, TOR, Tale & Tone and more, while the genre's premiere DJs have been steadfast with support along the way. Having previously worked on a project for Akbal Music, VITE and Hole Box now combine their extension forces once again, making their much anticipated Musique de Lune debut with 'Midway', alongside a remix from Ilias Katelanos & Plecta. 

Continuing to evolve and impress, VITE & Hole Box deliver one of their most thematic creations to date in 'Midway'. Warm punchy beats and a rolling groove set the foundation for a smooth flow into heartfelt vocal samples, dusty percussive arrangements and a gorgeous array of orbiting effects. Mood continues to rise across the main break as fluttery motifs and harmonic refrains fade off into aquatic designs, as the beats re-emerge and the vocal flows through further evolution for a finale that should fare very well on all the daytime dancefloors out there. 'Emotional Things' proves to be a worthy compliment with it's exotic drum flurries and key changing buoyancy. Almost childlike sounding with it's playful creative lean, this is one of those feel good, unite the dancefloor type tunes for those sunrise moments.

Completing the release are Ilias Katelanos & Plecta who provide the lone interpretation of 'Midway'. Greek artist Ilias Katelanos is no stranger to the label having released 'Sud' as part of the 'Rumba Del Sud' EP earlier this year, while Plecta makes his debut following projects for Akbal Music, Melody of the Soul, Songuara, Tale & Tone and The Soundgarden. As occasional studio partners of late, the duo continue to build on their creative synergy with a gorgeous take on 'Midway'. Ilias and Plecta take straight aim at the dance floor with a beefed up, swing heavy groove which works amazingly well, and while the main themes of the original are present, they work in a more groove-centric context, keeping the full seven-minute journey both danceable and emotive to round out the release on a strong note. Highly recommended.
