The Duo Okvsho is one of the most promising prospects of upcoming musicians from Zurich. The two brothers grew up in the city of Zurich with influences from oldschool beatmaking and house/electronic music to the modern Jazz-Scene, Funk and Neosoul. Funkier than ever, their first single 'Joga Bonito' from their upcoming EP reflects the new exotic vibes of the modern jazz scene. By adding live instrumentation, tropical drums and dancing beats, the group shows how to surf on the smooth and groovy wave of jazzy house music.

Let's cut straight to the chase. 28-tracks worth of Al Dobson Jr. is way more than anyone could ask for. His experimentations on Rye Lane Volume I broke the ice on Bradley Zero's now high-soaring Rhythm Section imprint; an über-healthy collection of vibey, percussive-led percies that came out back in 2014.

Volumes II & III come together like Siamese twins and its more of the same; warm and fuzzy doodles from the South London beat merchant. Many of the tracks are under three minutes in length, but no less punchy because of it. 

Case study: "Xingu". A quick Google tells us that the Xingu people are the indigenous peoples of Brazil, a title which suits the track in question. Its multi-layered drum underbelly would be at home in the tropics. And when combined with those glistening keys and laissez-faire bass rhythm, it's nothing short of magic.

There is with Tour-Maubourg an eternal desire to translate the feeling of love into music. Sometimes cheerful, sometimes melancholy, always exhilarating, the producer, native of Brussels and expatriate in Paris, has continued for 3 years to attract the praise of his peers and the support of a growing audience. The man who was described by Trax Magazine upon the release of his 1st EP as ‘‘one of the most promising producers of the French house scene’’ has revealed himself in this hyperactive new scene to become one of its best standards. 

If the producer’s first EPs were mainly focused on club music, Paradis Artificiels oscillates between the atmospheres that made the success of his previous releases and those of a studio album. Composed of both house songs and downtempo sound researches, always flirting with the jazz sounds that have made the producer’s touch recognizable, this debut album invites us on a journey in the lineage of St Germain, Massive Attack or Nicolas Jaar.

The first single "Ode To Love" taken from this LP appears as a perfect piece of acid jazz that takes the listener to a melancholic and cinematographic atmosphere, with a video directed by the independent French director Thomas Brandy.
