Wish You Were Here- Instrumental

Formed January 2015 by both classically trained guitarist Martin Dawson and vocalist Beth Stephenson.

As a singer she performed concerts with the Michael De Costa Academy in York from 14 years of age. Then with the York Musical Theatre Company to female vocal group Cadenza and rock/pop band I Heart writing original songs.

Martin’s musical career started at 17 with Sheffield rock band Deeta who recorded a single promoted by Sir Bob Geldof just before Live Aid in1985 with proceeds going towards famine relief.
 
Wider experience on the local club circuit with various bands including top act USA followed soon after.

Then a chance came to play original songs with southern based rockers December Rose who recorded an album who toured the UK promoting it, but due to management problems lost out on being signed so decided to leave and create a home studio to write songs to gain a publishing deal, some being accepted along with three instrumental albums for use on film scores and advertising.

Current band Mantra formed in 2004 started as an acoustic duo with 2 guitar/ vocals and produced 2 albums and were first to ever perform at Sheffield’s West Street Live in 2005 and Sheffield’s Boardwalk twice supporting The Sensational Alex Harvey Band in 2006/7 but now perform as a full band with a new line up.

So wanting to return to playing acoustic covers this time with a female vocalist and only one guitar and vocals set a new project hence the new name Second Chance.
