The release of last year’s FORTE marked the 20th anniversary for Pan-Pot, a colle past, present and future, now gets reworked by a careful selection of artists who’ve productions. Giorgia Angiuli’s rework of ‘Utopia’ takes the progressive energy of the original and electricity. The Italian is also a composer and multi-instrumentalist who moves bet her vocals to create dreamy dimensions. With her remix of ‘Utopia’ she toughens u and diminished lyrics, making a more distorted vocal presence to the original.

The second part of the FORTE Remixes of Pan-Pot’s critically acclaimed collection of singles from 2023 is a sonic journey of reworks by four remarkable remixers: Reinier Zonneveld, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Ramon Tapia and Nojre, each reimagining Pan-Pot's iconic tracks with their unique flair.

Reinier Zonneveld's remix of "UTOPIA" immerses listeners in a fusion of classical finesse and relentless techno essence. Infusing the track with epic melodies and pounding warehouse beats, Zonneveld crafts a mesmerizing experience, presenting what he’s best known for. Mysterious lead intertwine with a gummy bassline, while a deep male vocal commands the break, culminating in a tension-filled drop. Following, Sama Abdulhadi's remix of "PROTO" pulses with a psytrance-like energy, showcasing her distinctive perspective as the first Palestinian DJ on the international stage. Playful rhythms merge with hypnotic basslines, accompanied by intriguing modulated vocals and dynamic rally car sounds. The third remix is by Ramon Tapia, who returned to Second State after his track on the prestigious SUM series, delving into the darker shadows of techno with his rework of "PROTO". Pan-Pot proudly present the third and final part of the FORTE Remixes on their imprint Second State Audio, featuring reinterpretations by Planetary Assault Systems and Obscure Shape that showcase an innovative and mind-twisting approach to the German duo’s critically acclaimed singles from 2023.

The EP kicks off with Obscure Shape’s ‘CORE (Peak Remix)’, a tribal groovy 90’s inspired techno workout. The deep chord sequence from the original track forms the melodic theme, creating a colorful, epic and emotional atmosphere. With a big bassline supporting the groove, this track is a perfect closer for a sunset set, or to infuse some warmth, color, and energy into the dancefloor. Following this is Planetary Assault Systems’ ‘ARC (Rumble Jungle Remix)’, a seven-minute evolving trip into the sonic world of the genius of Luke Slater. This remix delivers an incredible reinterpretation with a forward-pushing groove, rolling rhythms, a hypnotic sequence and the iconic vocal loop from the original Pan-Pot track. On the flip side, Obscure Shape returns with ‘CORE (Reduced Remix)’, characterized by its captivating rolling top drum groove, stomping kick and incisive bass sequence. Legend has it that AERO was born when the Pan-Pot boys were testing out HADERLUMP Berlin's top-secret jet, they broke the sound barrier so violently that it ripped a melody straight from the sky. The shockwave sent a frequency through the cockpit's radio, perfectly harmonized, as if the heavens themselves were composing a track. Stunned, they crash-landed into a field of synthesizers and recorded the ethereal sound before it vanished. Scientists tried to explain it, but no earthly logic could decode the airborne symphony. The track remains the only known collaboration between man, machine, and the atmosphere itself. As this is the very untrue origin story of HUMAN_001_AERO by Pan-Pot off their brand new HUMAN series under the just revamped Second State label. The date is April 3rd. Nightcode was born during a blackout in a neon-drenched city, when Pan-Pot, deep in a late-night modular synth session, accidentally intercepted a signal from a defunct satellite looping alien rave transmissions. As the data warped their machines, every dial and fader moved on its own, channeling a hypnotic rhythm no human had ever programmed. The storm outside cracked in sync with the beat, and the studio lights pulsed like they were under the track's spell. Desperate to capture it before it vanished, they recorded the entire session through a toaster, a walkman, and sheer panic. By dawn, the signal was gone-but Nightcode lived, encoded with a frequency not even they fully understood.

DJ/Producer and Artcore Records boss @indirapaganotto makes her first EP debut on Berlin’s Second State with “Red Ninja” EP - a dark & hard-hitting techno voyage accompanied by a driving remix from Barcelona based, Tel Aviv born producer @shlomiaber. 

Title track “Red Ninja” opens the record and sets the tone with a rabid kick, brooding synths & scattered textures that build to samples of distorted Mongolian throat singing and ravey hooks. The track is a seamless blend of styles that both compliment and juxtapose each other to create an unorthodox high energy dance floor weapon. Following is “Magnetic Pulse”, which quite literally embodies its title with a reverberating bass, vocal chops and heaving kick drum. More subtle than its predecessor but with no shortage of impact, the track employs twinkling synth keys that create a hectic, skittish mood. Furiously paced snare drums and hi hats appear, adding texture and balance, after a breakdown provides a fleeting moment of tranquility. 

Stepping up for remix duties is Shlomi Aber with his take on “Red Ninja”. Intensifying the percussion and optimising a hypnotic synth line, his rendition is more of a techno roller than the original cut. Aber uses his skills to transform this mesmeric track into a no frills heavyweight banger, while still retaining some of the more curious elements. “Katana” is next and deepens the sonic trip with clips of Japanese conversation. Not hidden away behind distortion or effects, the samples dance in tandem with the booming kick drum while an intoxicating combination of bells sing out the melody. Closing out is “Cyber Slaves”, a driving yet simplistic composition. Paganotto employs a revolving melodic loop and percussive elements that shine through with a galactic energy to concoct this mesmerizing finisher.

DJ Dextro makes his full release debut on Berlin's Second State following releases across some of techno’s most established labels throughout his long-standing career. The Portuguese DJ/producer is a mainstay of the scene there, holding residencies in many clubs across the country as well as performing shows globally. He now steps up for his first EP with Second State, containing 5 deep and grooving tracks.

Quick paced opener ‘Commodore’ commands focus with a raucous kick drum propelling the track forward. The rhythm is muscular, laced with icy hi-hats and growling keys shooting throughout. Up next is ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ with a vigorous metallic string element reverberating throughout, rising and falling in tempo as lighter keys and soaring vocals dominate momentarily, bringing a euphoric 90s rave feel. Taking us deeper and darker is ‘Soul Rider’, proceeding with low lying keys and a robust jacking kick. The rolling bass and rhythmic keys creates a hypnotizing loop only disrupted by a smooth, soulful sample and fleeting presence of lively shakers and a solitary hi-hat.

Initially stripped back and minimalistic, ‘Freak Patch’ calls upon a muted alarm, tight key arrangements and uniform percussion to pick up momentum. A devious sample sneers over the music at intervals, adding to the anxious energy created in this cut. Closing out is ‘Walk Away’ a brooding, dance floor ready cut with twisted melodies and catchy detuned loops. The title is spitted out repeatedly throughout in tandem with the crisp percussion, ending the EP on an eccentric but electrifying high.

‘PROTO’ takes on a trio of unique forms, two supplied by Pan-Pot, whilst Canadian underground legend Mike Shannon delivers the third. “We wanted to do something special for the 20th anniversary of Pan-Pot, so we jumped back into the studio with our friend Hugh Betcha, who we produced ‘Charly’ with back in 2007, released on Mobillee. Our very first ‘hit’ track that received international recognition” says Pan-Pot. 

The original mix of ‘PROTO’ wastes no time in getting you re-acquainted with Pan-Pot’s vigorous production style, echoing the robustly energetic DJ performances that have seen them attain endless global acclaim. Orbiting the ominous vocal centrepiece, a rhapsody of powerful drums, coarse industrial percussive drive and the modulating envelopes of a savage lead bassline all combine to serve a pulsating peak-time slammer. “The lyrics of 'PROTO' are the continuation of the original ‘Charly’ track. Just have a listen....’ adds Pan-Pot. 

The ‘Stripped’ mix offers a dynamically contrasting persona, built around the hollows of thudding kicks, crisp hat grooves, an acidic bell-type synth lead and a mind-bending sine wave that will challenge your ability to stay on beat with the track’s spurring pace. 

Mike Shannon’s remix of ‘PROTO’ takes things deep, groovy and swinging on a Minimal tip. Dast joins the Second State Audio family with his latest work "Shadow Roots“ EP, a journey in the realms of techno and house, marking the 126th release of the imprint of Germany’s most beloved Techno duo Pan-Pot. 

"Shadow Roots" showcases Dast's sonic evolution, offering a 3-trackers that navigates the intricate spaces between house and techno. This EP not only reflects Dast's roots in the vibrant musical culture of Naples but also his journey through the electronic music landscape. 

The opening track, "Parentesi" is a darker techno cut, showcasing his storytelling skills with a fast tempo, pulsating leads and a rolling groove, underscoring Dast's versatility and innovative approach to music production. Following, "I Can't Get" captivates with hypnotic drum breaks and repeating chopped vocals, enriched by dreamy pads that maintain the EP's thematic blend. For Clint's second solo effort on Second State he brings us two big room jams. With the Throwing Stones EP he takes the same approach as he did with the previous Warpaint EP by going for two different vibes on either side of the record. 
On the A side we have 'Throwing Stones'; a peak time club tune perfect for dark spaces and strobe lights. With giant rolling sub bass, a heavy kick, crisp hi hats and crunchy hand claps the groove slowly grows into a big break with atmospheric chimes and vocal snippets. Soon you are lost in an ethereal break, but suddenly snapped back into reality as the bass changes and a single looping synth takes center stage creating a driving yet euphoric peak time floor filler. 
With the flip side, Clint goes for a warmer, uplifting tone with 'Come Undone'. Starting with finger snaps and a growing arpeggio, the vibe slowly builds as big toms and dreamy atmospherics introduce a massive sub bass line. As a shaker creeps up and another synth blends with the original arpeggio the beat finally drops. A solid four to the floor groove ensues and culminates into a wash of delayed chimes as the breakdown introduces the lead; an unforgettable brass line that is sure to have all the hands in the air at a sunny open air or a morning at the club.

Of course it would only be right to kick off the first track of the first HUB One way. An alliance with, Pan-Pot. "Tension' is a heavy number with just a few key elements, it's a slow lurking journey through a dark forest at night. Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

It is with a feverish excitement that we can finally announce the next EP in our catalog from our newest addition to the Second State family: Amelie Lens. Besides being quite a multi-talented virtuoso, the Belgian artist comes in hot and heavy for her debut release ‘Let It Go’ and with it showcases her prowess for dark, cutting-edge techno. Over the span of four tracks Lens takes us on a tour-de-force journey into the cerebral spaces of large, dark rooms and flashing strobe lights. Kicking things off is the hypnotically inducing 'Wild' with looping vocals laid over an ever increasing pressure of percussion and white noise. Much like the EP opener, 'Linger On' casts the same spell yet picks up the pace with racing snares and meteoric synth washes creating a deeply euphoric ride. The title track ’Let It Go' is up next and is by far the most 'cheeky' tune of the EP with a twisted acid line swirling around the constant begging of Lens’ voice encouraging you to "Let It Go, Let It Out". Rounding out the EP is 'The Finest Hour' and Lens wraps up her debut with the most psychedelic cut of the package. Low rumbling bass tones and spaced out pads over sparse drums leave lots of room for the imagination providing each listener to create their own journey to navigate. If this is Amelie Lens' debut with us, we expect a lot of very big things to come from the young Belgian and so should you. Welcome Amelie Lens!

We’re back again with another SUM package, and this release sees us stepping into our third year of churning out cuts from a variety of names spanning fresh faces to established artists.
SUM 5 kicks off with newcomer ALO’s fierce ‘Return’ where chaos crescendos over an unrelenting bass line before Christopher Lawrenz delivers a wild groover with enough energy to blow the roof off any club with his cut ‘ASIN’. Heavy hitter and man of the hour Eats Everything steps up next and provides another rave anthem on ‘Rollathonic’ before Housemeister’s ‘Am Puls der Zeit’ takes matters into deeper and more dramatic territories with shimmering synthesizers and lush harmonics which couldn’t be farther from JNO’s ‘Generation ID’ which focuses on heavy, fast paced percussion to take the club to the next level. Diving into more sinister territories, Klangkuenstler’s ‘Continuum’ is an intense ride not for the faint of heart whereas Lerio Corrado’s ‘Parabellum’ keeps the tough edge but balances it expertly with just the right amount of debauchery. Martin Eyerer follows suit with a chaotic, yet insanely euphoric blinder with ‘Mineral’ before Niereich & Linus Quick deliver a massive tune with the perfect Rave throwback vibe on ‘Secrets’. Next to last is the gorgeous, energetic and instantly unforgettable ‘Long Awaited Dawn’ from Paride Saraceni before Ryan McKay’s pulse pounding ‘Acid Control’ wraps up SUM 5 with a bang.
