Laux The Rapstar’s , ‘TROPHY’ explains the unfortunate repercussions women face when they are in a relationship with a man who diminishes their worth to “just something pretty to look at”. Often times men have grown up in an environment that encourages them to make relations with a “trophy girl”. Although many of them have the opportunity to date one, due to their upbringing, some men are not able to respect her due to their own insecurities. In result, this creates a toxic relationship between the two and becomes a true example of “hurt people hurt people”.

Laux includes an abundance of symbolism through her single’s cover as well. On her cover, she is pictured as a trophy letting go of a dove which represents generational curses and pays homage to Prince’s 1984 ‘When Doves Cry’. Laux is also dressed in a pearl skirt which represents faithfulness and a crown with an upside-down heart which represents heartbreak and unrequited love.

With this single, Laux hopes to resonate with both genders and bring awareness to the cause and effect of abusive relationships.
